Lackey GrandPrix 1st Place - The Zerubbabel Deck

This deck is the evolved form of the original Mary based Postee deck I threw together at the end of last year. This represents pretty well the difference refining makes as that list had been worked on for a day while this one has been tweaked for just over a month. Lots of individual slots were adjusted but the only real big change was moving all the battle enhancements to Reserve with involved a full commitment to Postexilic synergy. You can get two at once straight to your hand with BotL/ZTemple + Jeshua or Threshing Floor. The slot that feels the least refined is the Hero slot currently occupied by Noah. Noah is a very low backup plan attack and his only real purpose currently is to play Impartial Judgement if I put Goshen down before I can play it on Zerubbabel.

The deck actually loses pretty hard to any "real" defense since you can just body block the Zerubabbel as long as you have a couple negates. The Assyrian defense in this deck specifically takes it apart pretty well as you can easily interact with the territory support Heroes, create large bands, and have quite a few negates. Fortunately, even against such defenses, the deck can still win by simply applying too much pressure too fast for the opponent to handle, especially with all the counters this deck can stack up.

Great card, couldn’t fit it. It would be a better reserve weapon in a deck with less maindeck negates and more battle winners.
