I'd be interested in trying to make at least once a month! At this point any level of tourney would be great for the new promos (so at least one of each :P).

I'm really excited to see Wisconsin tournaments are starting up again!

I've found that Rob is a little flexible on the six week deadline depending on how busy he is. I believe it's there to allow him time to process the application and ship materials in time.

The new promos are in. If Rob has not yet updated the tournament application just write in your request on the app and I think he will send them.

I can do most Sat/Sun. If I hear some dates I can get a better idea of when I'm available.
They seem pretty lame as fighters maybe we should challenge them to a dance off or a redemption game

Depending on just how far of a drive it is, I might be able to make it...especially if you ended up hosting a WI state tournament.

If we can confirm a location I'd be happy to help plan/host/judge/whatever a State tournament if it means we have one this year!

Aww c'mon...I lived in WI for a few years... ::)

Interestingly enough, WI is actually where I lived when I first received an A/B starter deck as a birthday gift from a friend in Ohio. So you could say my life as a Redemption player began in WI!  :o

Or it could be like what happened last time I went to Nat's after sweeping MN tourney... ;P

But probably not. #Mega'sabitrusty

Wish I could've been there to see how it happened...

I wonder if MN can ever live that down. ;)

Okay, Here's what I'm thinking as far as dates are concerned,

May 13th, Local
(May 27th, Iowa State)
June 3rd, (District)
June 17th, (Local)
July 8th, (District)
July 22nd, (Local)
(August 3rd-5th, Nationals)
August 19th, (Local)

Also listed are dates of out of state tournaments that I plan on attending. The dates in June and July may change once we know when the North Central Regional will be held. I thought it would be a good idea to host tournaments more frequently over the summer to get back into the swing of things leading up to Nats, and then transition to once a month after Nats, but if there is absolutely no interest in doing 2 tournaments a month I can rearrange the dates. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

The schedule for the Locals will probably look something like this,
8:00 - 9:00 AM - Deck Check
9:00 - 1:30 PM - T1 2P (With a break for lunch)
1:30 - 5:00 - Booster Draft
1:30 - 5:00 - Other Categories (If interested)

Districts will be similar with T1-2P in the morning and the other three categories in the afternoon, or 2 categories each in the morning and afternoon. The specific timing can be worked out depending on who wants to play what categories. I expect the schedule for the Locals to be pretty loose.

There will be a $5.00 entry fee for the locals and a $10.00 entry fee for the Districts that includes all the non-sealed categories. Sealed events cost extra. Lunch will be provided.

For Booster Draft, we will be able to do Kings, Priests, EC, PC, and CoW for $18.00, unless you want to do the three box packs and either Kings or Priests for $16.00. I'm not an expert when it comes to what packs to draft. Your thoughts on what exactly you would like to draft and how much you are willing to spend would be appreciated.

If there are people who are interested in playing either T2-2P or T1-Multi instead of booster, that can be added as another category in the afternoon.

As far as location goes, I'm going to submit the paperwork to try and reserve the community room, but, if they decline it for whatever reason, I have a couple friends who's churches may be interested in hosting. I'll update you when I've nailed down a location.

Thanks for all the input and support. I really hope this is something that will last.

How far are you guys from the Twin Cities again?

Any chance you'll try to host a WI state (maybe on the July 22nd date)?

I don't know where exactly the triplets live and would be hosting, but iirc from Milwaukee to the T2-only a couple years ago was around 6 hours including stops for gas and food?

Yep, I'm actually familiar with Milwaukee...used to live there.  :)

I thought maybe they were closer to Green Bay.

We live in Cedar Grove, WI. It's about a five hour drive from Minneapolis to Cedar Grove. One of the potential locations is in West Bend, but that is about the same distance from the Twin Cities.

There is a chance that we could host WI State. The determining factors would be if there is enough interest to cover the cost, and if the location is big enough to accommodate the expected turnout. I can't make any promises, but I am confident that if enough people want WI State to happen, myself included, it should be a possibility.

Do you have an address for where it is? And perhaps put all the tournament info in the OP?

We're hoping to have a better idea soon, but MN State could likely end up in the June 17th to July 15th range--possibly hosted in Rochester or in Lakeville where we held it last year.

I updated the OP with the information for the tournament this coming May 13th.

Earlier this week I received the package from Rob with the tournament supplies. For this first Local the prize packs will be CoW, but future events will be RoJ.

Everything is ready to go.

I'll probably be sending in the application for the District on June 3rd soon as well. I'm assuming it is in the interest of the majority to have Paul as the promo? I'm interested in getting all three, Eli, The Serpent, and Paul, so whatever you want to do works.

I'm probably gonna be grabbing The Serpent first. But for our Local are we getting the LS Promo?

The promo for the Local this coming May 13th is The Watchman. I forgot to mention that when I updated the OP.

Aww... that's the only one you guys grabbed? That's too bad... guess I'm hoping that it's worth enough that I can trade it for the LS to someone then.

If I'm able to attend this tournament, I would trade you the promo LS for your Watchman promo.

FYI, when you register for a local tournament you can only select one promo. If a host has run a lot of tournaments, they may have extra copies of the other promos so they can offer those as well, but newer hosts probably won't be in that situation.

Really excited to see WI tournaments again, and definitely hoping it works out for me to make it.  8)
