Cactus Game Design Message Boards

These would be what you say were the highlights and bummers of Nats for you this year.

My Highlights:
*Being able to participate in my first Nationals tournament ever!
*Getting to Meet Rob Anderson
*Getting his autographs on my "Authority of Christ" promo and my copy of the original Player's Guide
*Getting a picture taken with him and getting a compliment from him about the deck I made for my brother. (He had the Darth Vader Sleeves in T1/2P)
*Having played "Fellowship" and having a huge 63/55 juggernaut in battle (it soon fizzled out though)
*In above game, it was a draw and we ran out the clock.
*Getting slaughtered by a TGT deck. (Seriously, I think this was good. )
*Getting my very first official tournament win in the last round.
*Playing Chris Bany during my bye.

The Bummers
*Getting a bye. (But had a good consolation.)
*In the first round, I got beaten by someone who said that that was her first game. :O
*Not getting to play Rob Anderson
*My "Priests of Christ" promo had a weird circle on the bottom part of the card back, making it impossible to use it in clear sleeves or sleeveless decks.
*Forgetting to pray before each round.
*A win against someone I played due to my opponent's deck illegality. For some reason, several of his Lost Souls disappeared. He found them later, fortunately, but it was a shame to see something like that happen.
*Quoting Rainbow Dash's infamous line "So Awesome!" while sticking my fists to my cheeks..... and only one guy got the reference.

All in all, I had a great time, and I'd love to do it again! What were your best and worst moments of the tournament?

jmbeers believing a young lady worker at chic fil a was "very interested" in him!!! However , I was the one she         gave the free ice cream too,(then again maybe she thought I was his dad?).
 I did not play Rob, but I did play his wife in sealed....he is a very very lucky man to have her as a spouse and partner.
Seeing how well run Nats was thru Chris, his wife and Josh's efforts as hosts. PS: I also found out how to get my daughter Rebeccah out of the shower in less then 30+minutes....only supply cold water!!! PPS: Thanks Josh for the loan of the air mattress that had no leaks.
The same as past Nats, I was pleased to find a large group of various aged individuals that their actions were Christlike in nature to all. I look forward to next year where I can again serve as a source of "Lost Souls" generation for all my opponents. Take care all, Allen.

We have three Chick-Fil-A's in MN; two of them are at college student unions (University of Minnesota, where I had my first Chick-Fil-A experience since moving away from Ohio; and Minnesota State University, Mankato). The third is at the airport. All three of them are at least an hour and a half drive from where Andrew lives.

Chick-fil-A is the only advantage to living in Bama,...

They're serious jokes, for sure. They did indeed happen, but Chris is probably the only one who will understand the first, and the second was basically just all the random conversations Friday night, which did indeed include Twilight.

Worst thing:
Getting beat out for 1st and 1st in T2MP on the final turn of the final game because I couldn't draw 1 card.

Best things: Placing 3rd in T2MP and getting 2nd in RNRS in my first year getting RNRS points.  (Took some time to get over though )
Getting to meet people I now know faces for and knowing that not everyone is as crazy in RL
