Not that I'll be attending (sorry, I'd love to come), but I'll be hosting a district in Rochester in November hopefully.  Let me know when you schedule yours so they don't overlap.

Also, if it is the same weekend or close to Micah's fundraiser tournament (Nov. 5), then I will not make it.

Sadly, Kittens tournaments takes precedent to most others because he is only 2 hours away opposed to your 4. I would suggest to coordinate with him, and I will update you guys with my tournament projections as well.

Overall, I hope to visit some of your tournaments!  I like to support new hosts with my presence.   :)

Yeah, host it the 12th. The 5th is already claimed by Micah's tournament.

SK, would your group consider coming down? If so, let me know how many people would come. I can probably fit some kids in my hotel room (aka my dorm room) if you need a bed Friday or Saturday night, although that bed might be a floor.

If you choose the 19th, there's a chance I could come.  That's at the start of my Thanksgiving break.  Not sure if I'm actually gonna be going home then or not, but if I do I should be able to get up to NY.

Less than two weeks, time to start getting an official headcount!  Let me know if you're planning on coming.

I will definately be there barring unforeseen circumstances. I can't contribute to the teams category though, I hate it too much.

Alright, I will be dropping any plans for TEAMS then, and possibly the MP, as it is looking like you and I will be the only experienced players there.  I'm also gonna move the start time to 1:00.  If you want to come down earlier than that for lunch, that'll be no problem, I can get you into our caf at no charge (insert standard warning/disclaimer about college caf food here).

I'm talking to my wife and trying to clear my Saturday schedule to be there. My wife's hesitation...I just traveled 8 hours this past weekend to travel 4 more this weekend.  However, I want to be there.

I'm going to try and talk some of my playgroup into coming. I need to know some details for their mothers.

1. You are a little over 4 hours away, so an exact start time would be nice.  10 AM, 1 PM or some other time that I can suggest?   ;D
2. You have signed up for both T1 2P and T1 Multi.  Will the events run back to back or congruently?
(I don't think you can "not play it" if Alex hates it.  ;)  Didn't you get prize packs for 2 events?)
3.  When do you think the tourney will end? (Remember, I have to get my young playgroup back home -->4 hours away.)
4.  Is the cost $2 per category or $2 for the day?
5.  What is the cost of lunch/dinner?

The more info I have for mothers..the higher the likelihood that more of my playgroup members can go.

2.  Easiest question to answer - Alex was referring to hating TEAMS, and if it is just he and I as experienced players (I've got a couple people I'm teaching, but this would be their first tourney), I wouldn't try and mess around with that - was only thinking of doing that unofficially so I could actually see it in action.  As for T1-MP, if we don't have enough people, I have no problem canceling the event.  If your group does come down, we would definitely be fine for both, though.

1 and 3.  Hm.  I don't mind starting any time between 10 and 1, just thought to put it at one when I thought it would just be Alex coming in from off campus - wouldn't have needed as much time then.  Do you guys prefer getting up early and then getting back earlier?  If we started at 10 or 11, I imagine we could be done by 3 and y'all could be home by about 8.  Really depends on how many you can bring, though.

4 and 5.  Huh, don't remember putting down $2 for both...such weird numbers, where was my brain when I did that?  As for food, I had been planning on just guest passing Alex into my caf if he needed a meal, but I only have two of those per semester, so that won't work if you bring a group.  How about combining the costs I have listed per category into one entrance fee, plus a dollar to help pay for pizza?  So $5 total, covers both categories and food, and I can get enough to make it lunch/dinner.

Ok, tl;dr version - start time is flexible, cost is $5 covering everything, we'll do MP first , then 2P, hopefully finishing before 6.  I will edit my first post with this information as soon as I can.

Also, this whole event is part of a bigger afternoon of board/card games that I'm (loosely) organizing for my friends, so there will be games other than Redemption as well as a bunch of cool college kids.  This is a Christian school, and all the folks who will be there I can vouch for, in case that's an issue with your group's parents.  And if any of my friends do step out of line, I have no problem getting on them about it ;)

I can do either time, I'm only an hour away (maybe less, can't remember). I am open to MP and 2P.

Would it be unencouraging to play TGT against newer players? I kinda don't want to have to build a new deck and that's my Nats deck... haha.

Hey JM,
First, thanks for being flexible. As of now, it looks like me and my two boys (8 & 7) will make it.  My preference is starting pre-noon like 11 AM that way I don't have to leave crazy early, but can get back at a decent time too.  The girl playgroup member already had a shopping date planned with her mom.  However, her younger brother wants out of that, so it is their mom that I have to give the info too (it mostly revolved around time and food). The upside, with MP being first, I have a little grace to show late.  ;)  Byes are awesome in MP.  :P  So there is a good chance that it will be 4 of us. As for price, I got that odd number from the official Cactus announcement page.  I will bring a little extra for food money.  If you're not expecting more than 8, then that could be a quick tourney.  Thanks for all the info.

Alex, I'm probably going to have the two guys I'm teaching borrow decks from me - I know the one deck can handle TGT fairly well, and the other should be OK too.  I'll be sure to use my own TGT deck against them while training, though, so they can start prepping for what it feels like ;)

SS, about the prices, I did look at the tourney info page.  I know I put those prices there, but I cannot remember my logic for it.  Can't even remember writing those down.  Like I said, weird.  Six weeks is a long time to remember something like that!

And a total of 8 people sounds fantastic, b/c that is exactly the number of promos I have.  Wow, I like guessing right!

On the campus, where is free parking for non-students and which campus building are you in?
Unrelated fact:  for a second this morning I thought the weather was going to stop me, but weather.com said it should be clear and good to go for tomorrow.
