None of these answer my questions. 1. Can a host (who is the official judge) play in an official local or district tournament category when there is no other judge present?2. Can a host (who is the official judge) play in an official local or district tournament category where the only other judge is playing in the same category? If yes, does that host/judge still get RNRS points and Cactus prizes?
Hmmm.... the rules say that there has to be a non-playing judge. Are we just tossing that rule because we trust each other? Does Rob give his stamp of approval on this policy? I would certainly love to play in my own tournaments.
I can't see it making sense in a big multi-category event. There is just too much to do as host.
Now when I send in for tournies, I list myself and my wife as the host. One because we both can judge and make rulings and two because we open our home to people and act as there host by providing food etc. If neither of us play then I would have waste the money that I spend on the tournament fees
I think was Rob is saying is that hosting a tournament that you arent playing in can get boring. I know I enjoy hosting tournaments even when I dont play in them, but I like it even better when I get to play.

I have not had three people come to any of my tournaments, if you don't include either my wife or myself.
(probably before the purge)

I also remember there being a lot of people at KY State last year
