We got some very inexpensive pricing at the Premier Inns. Four people could share a room for less than $13/night each.

The church facility is not equipped for people to stay overnight. So to offer a "near-free" option, we would need to ask for volunteers from within the church body who would be willing to open their homes to players. There's no guarantee how many volunteers that we would get nor how many players they could accommodate. I'm willing to try to pursue this avenue for people if you let me know that it is something that you need. There is a place on the registration form to indicate your need for this housing option (or you can email me at mjwolfe@redemptionsocal.com). When Nationals is near, we'd be able to confirm how many spots we could offer for this lodging option.

It would still be a good idea to have a reservation at the Premier Inns. If we can offer you someone's house to stay at, you can always cancel the hotel reservation.

Hey,

There are several things I need to figure out before I will know if I am able to make it to nationals this year, but if I am able to make it to nationals I will be interested in rideshare options and "near-free" lodging options.  Should I register and make note that there's still a good chance I won't be able to attend, or is there some other way I should express interest in rideshare and "near-free" lodging without registering?

As far as tents go, some of the people who may volunteer to host may have room for tents in their back yards so that more people could be accomodated.

What is Type-A?  I'm not familiar with it.
Type-A is the same as Type-1 2-player but is a separate event for younger players. You must be under 12 years old and have no lifetime RNRS points to enter Type-A.

If you aren't sure that you are attending but want to let me know that you would be interested in the rideshare or near-free lodging, then send me an email at mjwolfe@redemptionsocal.com indicating your details. If you decide later that you can make it, then just register at that point indicating on the form that you still want to rideshare or stay at someone's house. If you decide later that you can't make it, then email me again at that time to tell me that you won't rideshare or stay at someone's house after all.

Please I plan on just doing one dinner of nothing but the Cookie Dough Cheesecake from the Cheese Cake Factory. And in honor of my brother-en-law who is from LA I will have to go get In-n-out one time.

Dang I forget the main point of my post so here goes with the modification.  The website looks great, I guess I better start planning a bit harder and talking with others so I know what I'm going to do at Nats. :) I get to go I'm so excited its my first NATS. My wife still thinks I'm a bit nutz

May I ask why T1 2-player is listed at 8 rounds?  It has been 10 rounds during the last three years when I attended nationals and I believe it was that way before as well.  And are there details available as to what Tins/Boosters will be used during Booster Draft?

Booster Draft will use both Rock of Ages +Kings and Faith of Our Fathers +Patriarchs, the goal being to have 19 different tins to increase variety in decks.

We do not expect our nationals to be any bigger than last year's.  It will likely be a little smaller turnout.  Even with an event of equal size to last years, 8 rounds of 2-player will be more than sufficient to determine a winner.  It allows us to end at dinner time, and leaves time for fellowship and other games in the evening if needed (teams, etc.).

Hey,

It has been 10 rounds during the last three years when I attended nationals and I believe it was that way before as well.

In 2004 T1-2P was 9 rounds, other than that it has been 10 rounds every year since 2001.  In 2001-2004 the ten rounds were split up over two days with 4 rounds happening on Friday evening and the last 6 happening Saturday morning.  In 2005 when nationals was expanded to 3 days, we started doing all ten rounds in one day.

It allows us to end at dinner time, and leaves time for fellowship and other games in the evening if needed (teams, etc.).

I plan on doing most of my Friday fellowshiping between the beginning of round one and the end of the final round.

Could you please put the times by the events?  I'm trying to organize the trip and am wondering if I can leave in the morning or come the night before (since I only llive 4 hours away).

Blessings.

Maybe I missed it, but is there a street address for the Nats09 venue?  In this way, I can plug it into Mapquest?

Are the details below that I researched on the Internet accurate?

999 Rancho Conejo, Newbury Park, California 91320, United States
Phone: 805-262-5000
Fax: 805-262-5001

Thanks!

Yes, that is the correct address.  Some map searches (ie, Google) may try to tell you that it's part of a different city, but it's the right place.

Will Booster Draft still contain RoA and FoOF plus a pack of cards from the  new Thesaurus ex Preterito?

Second, what time will T2 2 player begin on Thursday?

First, yes.  In booster draft, you will get:
1.  1 tin out of the 19
2.  the missing booster (either Patriarchs or Kings, depending on which tin you got)
3.  a pack of TeP

I can't wait to see players trying to decide which of the following to draft:
foil #1
foil #2
Guardian
Wall
Destruction
Leviathan
King of Tyrus (warriors)
Furnace of God's Wrath (and you're drafting gold)

Such difficult decisions!

I'll check the time.

Isn't King of Tyrus ultra rare?
According to the cactus website only warriors rares and lower will be in the set. oh and fwiw I would pick the destruction, unless the new cards are super epic.
