Ok this thread is a think tank for SE regionals. Me and Chris aka Crashfach from TN, both decided to co host SE regionals so it will not be too much out of our pocket and so that I could play T2 and him T1.

With that being said, should I host it down 30 mins north of Atlanta, or should he host it in Knoxville TN? I will host in the ATL if people in GA will actually wake up and say they are coming. It will probably be second week of July, or third week like normal. He can host it at a nice church which can sleep more than enough for regionals, but would the Florida guys/ Carolina guys go to TN for that? I would like there to be 25-30 people at this regionals so whichever place can get more attendees is where me and Chris decided to host it. Also I know Orlando might try to host it, which I do not mind but I do not see me or the GA crew coming 6-7 hours for a 2 day tournament, gas is too high and my income is too low sorry. I would love to go to Orlando for regionals I could not make it and I am pretty sure the GA crew could not make it. I think my spot is the most central and could bring in most players but I would like people on here to post their ideas. Carolina guys, where would you want, TN guys could you make a little drive to GA for it? Orlando guys if I charged a small flat rate for playing open categories, and provided food for your crew could the FL guys make it to GA? I want the Southeast to be back on the map again with not just quality players, but more then just a handful of us. Please let me know so Chris and I can plan accordingly.

Yeah I will try to find a church down here to host at or I can use a facility down here and sleep people at my house, which holds plenty, and I am sure a few guys down here will not mind hosting some people at their house. I have to talk to Eric and see if we can use his church which would be perfect, if not I will make other adjustments. Are you and your dad coming?

I would definitely do Orlando, and would encourage Orlando for nationals coming up next year, heck maybe this year lol. But Cliff and I will probably do state at his house or my house whichever works better. Also I am 30 mins north of Atlanta.

I have no intention of hosting SE Regionals this year. My playgroup is not yet established enough. I would like to put in a bid for Florida states, but even that is uncertain. I will need a year at least to get where I need to be to have an established group and an adequate venue. My church is in a transitional phase that is taking longer than I expected.

I will not likely be able to make Regionals, even with your generous offer. I will definitely inform my playgroup members about the possibility and will inform you if they are able to go.

I could move it to a different week in July it also depends on when Clift goes to Europe. This is why I made the post now so the Fl guys could now, Clift could know, as well as our playgroup and the TN guys, and Carolina guys. I would love if both TN groups could make it, Knoxville and Nashville if we do it down here, and each bring 3-4 people. If Georgia guys actually showed up we could have around eight or so of us, maybe some sleepers will come out who knows. So now if some FL guys who used to always come to our regionals could make it up, yes you Karazy, and bring a couple more, or if the Orlando guys could come, there's another 3-4. Bring the 4 Carolina guys down, and I think Alabama is pretty much dead so that would be about it, unless Ben Shadrick is back in town for the summer like he normally is. We could end up having anywhere from 3-6 national ranking players, as well as 22-26 players show up. Not too bad.

If you guys held it in Knoxville, unless I was dead or my baby was sick or something, I would guarrantee that at least I would be there. I would be willing to bet that we could get several other people to travel down there to it as well. Dalton or ATL would be a bit far for us, but Knoxville would be great.

so I am pulling for Knoxville.

I am sure that the GA crew will come if it is in Knoxville. So if your crew could come if it was in Knoxville I would like that. The only thing now is the FL guys and the Carolina crew, also Red and his dad and any other Bama players.

Let me know what weekend is looking to be the best. That way I can let the church know what days we are thinking about using it. I'd rather go ahead and reserve the days, and not use them, than not reserve and then not be able to play there!

I am planning on attending whether it is in Atlanta or Knoxville. The only dates not good for me are July 9 and 10, due to the fact that I will be in carl deuty's wedding.

Ok so right now it seems that the TN guys from Knoxville will come regardless, I have not heard from the Nashville gang yet, the GA crew should go wherever. Now the FL guys are still a toss up, Alabama will only bring in red and his dad if it is at Clift's but I think we will have too many for Clift's house sorry. The Carolina guys might come wherever it is but I have not heard from them yet, and Crustpope and some guys from there can go if it is in Knoxville. So as of now it looks like we should do it at Knoxville, the only thing that would change that would be the FL guys and Carolina guys saying where they could make it. Let us know please!

YEah, I think that when planning a regional, preference should be given to the people within that regional if multiple venues could be chosen.

in other words, dont put it in knoxville just for me and a few other buckeyes whou would love to come down. Florida and Alabama should get the preference before us.

but we WOULD love to come back down for a SE Regional!

Deep south reporting in! Haha, my brother and I could do Atlanta. We're still new to the game. We've starting hosting tournaments back in January. We have a small group of about 2-5 people, 3 of us seem to be more committed. I've started talking to the group about a district tourney in Orlando, I'm facing a little opposition, I'm not sure how telling them about Atlanta would turn out. I'd like to see if two of our newest guys stick, otherwise we're just a spect on the map with 3 people.

Gentlemen, I'm curious as to why this "Southeastern Regional" tournament thread is suggesting to host in Knoxville, TN? That's not even considered to be part of our region. That would be South Central. What would be even more silly is hosting as "Southeastern" tournament that's out of bounds. That's like hosting the TN state tournament in NY lol. Well, guys I would love to make it to something bigger than just a local tournament but it would only be right and seem fair if you keep it within bounds which means some where in GA. Like my brother said in a previous post, we have about 3 commited people. If you guys give us more time perhaps we could grow our group in time. But try to keep it in Atlanta or knock it a few miles south please. It would be great it this can be cost effective for everyone. Since it would be hardest for the people who are the furthest away try hosting it on a Saturday around noon or afternoon so those players would have Friday evening/early morning to travel. Try that. To let you know, I would be representing a FL player.

HAH! This is because we were both under the belief that we were in the same region. Well that makes things complicated!

According to Cactus' map, TN is the East Central.

Southeast would include MS, AL, GA, SC and FL. Southwestern GA, Southeastern AL, and Northern FL would be the most central locations. I have not heard much from Mississippi players, so Southern GA would probably be more accurate. Unforunately, people from southern FL (like Drew and Delarosajon) are extremes, so they would have to travel the furthest. Since FL is still burgeoning, I think we could consider a Northern FL Southeast Regionals next year.

Just a quick comment, there are 5 states in the Southeast Region: Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. A regional is just that, a regional, so there will be times that it will be closer and farther away. I am not sure of the distances from each state to Atlanta, but I am not sure it is necessarily the best location for everyone.

It would be impossible to have 6 or even 5 categories start at noon on a Saturday and finish before 12am. States and regionals are ALMOST always 2 days long, starting in Friday evening. However, I have been wrong before...

Glad you put lol on the end of that because that is a horrible comparison. I was unsure if TN was in our region but I did not think it would be a big problem if the venue was good for us to have it there. But since I have some people on here saying it needs to be in GA then I will have to host it solo I guess, unless Chris you still want to help out, I would love it. Also Red, when I say Atlanta I do not mean in the city itself. As I said two other times in this thread I am thirty mins north of Atlanta and I would not host SE regionals inside crazy Atlanta. With all that being said it seems like it has to be in GA but I have some debate on here as to what part. I could drive a couple hours south, east, west, north I do not care, as long as we have a good turnout, and if I do drive out there then I would need someone to hook me up with a venue.
