All start times would be 9am, otherwise we would not finish all categories before bedtime. We can double up categories when there are more than three (i.e. all districts). We can negotiate what categories take place at what times. For example, with the number of players I have, a
Type I 2-player category would require four rounds, which would take four hours. Multiplayer games require less rounds, but there is still only so much time in the day. We could probably bump a local tournament to a noon start time, but it would not end until late at night. So, for those of you driving many hours, you either have to drive early in the morning or late at night. Remember that crashing at my house is always an option.
As far as categories:
Locals will always include
Type I 2-player and
Type I multiplayer, since those are the preferred category of my playgroup. I will try to include either
Booster Draft or
Sealed Deck (sometimes both). If the January 16th tournament is approved, it will have
Sealed Deck (using E/F decks).
Districts ar more flexible. The
Type I categories will of course be there, as well as one or both of the closed deck categories, but I am open to
Type II categories that will be played at the same time as one of the other categories. If anyone is interested in
Type II, please PM or post so I can be sure to include them. I may simply include all categories, but that costs more so I want confirmation of interest first.
Then a state
That is part of the master plan. I currently attend Faith Christian Center in Clermont. They are building a new 2,000-seat sanctuary that will be done for Easter. After that, their current multipurpose building will be more available. I'm hoping that the church will approve Redemption and allow me to start using that building for tournaments, including States. Things can change between now and then, but my current plan is to put it an application for a Florida State Tournament.
