We will just rent a coach. I bet we could fill it up with people from the Midwest and Canada.

I just grabbed a quick quote to rent a coach from St. Paul to Hollywood in early August. The cost per person would be around $300 if we had 55 people interested. Beats airfare.

We could have the Shippenburg (sp?!?) folk decorate it.

Unfortunately, I'm guessing the cost of food along the way there and back would basically negate any savings over airfare... :-\

Actually, it would probably just interrupt and prevent.

interrupt + prevent=negate. either way, it's going to be expensive either way.

I hate to state the obvious, but this is inaccurate.  Georgia and California have gotten the most support on the forum so far.  However the actual choosing of the Nats location is completely up to Rob, and could take into account many factors which have not even been brought up here on the forum.  Therefore, Nats '09 could actually be in almost any state at this point.

Prof Underwood is very correct but with all the cold weather and snow going on in the U.S I'm voting for some where that is nice and warm year round.  I know every where is nice and warm in August but as cold as I am just thinking warm is nice.  Oh and I'm still voting california because I might be able to take a group of my youth with me to play. :)

If by "dark horse," you mean "was actually the plan all along," then I agree. Kevin was talking about having it in Iowa at Nationals and Iowa has a lot of potential. Central location, driving distance for majority of players (including all of the players in MN...), airport, inexpensive place to stay, etc.

Well, I don't know much about location myself, but I'm beginning to have a feeling that I will never be able to make it to nationals. :'( The last time it was in MN, I had to go to a funeral, and my dad won't take me further than an hour's drive from home....So everyone just go on without me. *sniffle, sniffle* I'll be fine. :'(

you could try to convince Bill Voigt (Everytribe) to swing by your place in order for you to get to Iowa. just chip in a few bucks for gas... that is... if it's in Iowa...

Don't worry, MN will get it again.  Just not this year I hope.  CA!

Yes, it's actually just a patch of grass next to a corn field and we only fly those old biplanes but we call it an airport...

Wow in the small town I live in we actually have an old airfield that is just grass next to the corn fields. LOL  Of course if I drive 10 minutes I get to the Salem Airport and they have an actual runway and everything.

CA for Nats '09. (please please please I really want to go to a Nats before I get old :) )

there are many more others who want to go before they get old too... like BubbleBoy. the majority is closer to Iowa, and we had just as big a regionals as the CA people did.

Actually, it is mostly about numbers - how many Redemption players will actually be able to attend; but the secondary criteria would be location - making sure no one area gets all the Nationals.

Personally, I like Iowa as a location for Nationals, however, the last two Nationals were pretty close. I'd expect to see it moved around a little if another viable location pops out.
