Hey Everyone,

Great news! Rob has approved for me to start running these online tournaments again! So here the information!:

What this is:
1) This is a Local Tournament with the only categories offered (for now) will be LoC Type-1 constructed and Type-1 2-Player.
*Games will be 1 hour long, and you will play at least 3 games, so plan your day accordingly.
*Depending on feelings/thoughts we might try to do different categories.

2) The games will be played only on Zoom that is set-up by the host for that week.
*www.zoom.com is the website. You do not need to create an account, just log into the session # with password given by the host during that day.

3) All games will be played "in person" through Zoom. Sanctioned tournaments require physical cards, so Lackey and other programs will not be an option. Sorry!
*Due to this we will require a deck list and a deck check before the start of each tournament to keep everything official!
*You can send these via discord, here, email. If you need any information from me then let me know.

4) There will be a $5 tournament fee. This is to cover the cost of the tournament itself and shipping of promos/prizes to everyone that participates.

As the tournament checking in went much smoother than anticipated last time we did this we will keep the start times around the same time, but only do 1 hour deck check instead of a hour and a half. I'm adjusting the times a little bit to try to make this fit for the most people, but if we see a better time showing itself then we will adjust. We will also plan to alternate early and late games to try to allow as many different people to be able to play some.

I hope to get confirmation on this soon! With the limited amount available, most people aren't going to have enough meek souls.

If you want to get on while others are on and hang out during deck check and play a Type 2 game for fun you can probably do that. Right now I have permission to run a 2 category local of which we had pretty much determined would be Type 1 - 2 Player and LoC Constructed. We can see how these go and possibly discuss this. One major concern right now is the time limits. We are already moving the time limit up to 1 hour for Type 1, and I'm still concerned that won't be enough time, I can't imagine how long a Type 2 game would last on this medium. I also know with dealing with computers and phones seeing territory is probably going to be the biggest obstacle, and Type 2 territories can get very crazy. But I'm cool discussing this with people and seeing how this goes. If you do want to play a game or two, it might not be a bad idea to do and see how this things look/feel.

To be a sanctioned tournament, which means receiving prizes and promos, you HAVE to play with physical cards. This has been established in the rules of "official" tournaments for a few years now, and Rob has stated the same for these tournaments in our conversations. So unfortunately for the people who are used to playing with those programs, they are not allowed for these sanctioned tournaments. That doesn't keep you from using them to play non-tournament games and build decks of course.

OK. I guess I was just confused by what the "physical cards" requirement was supposed to be. If you do a deck check by Zoom you can verify that the players have the physical cards in their deck list in their possession. I didn't realize that Cactus had any concern beyond that.

This is the main reason for a 1 and 1/2 deck check time. The participants must show me their physical deck in the exact order of their deck list to verify the accuracy

What category? I know Jayden mentioned it if we could use I/J starters. I assumed he was since Gabe got it ruled that we could, just never heard back

So I have been looking for a phone mount that would work well in live streaming overhead (via facetime, zoom, etc) and the Arkon Pro Phone Stand that looks like it has a great way to show my territory from above. However, the other half of the puzzle is to have a way so that I can see my opponent's territory while playing. I would then have to basically adjust the overhead angle and have it close to my chest so that my opponent can kind of see my territory and then I can see my phone screen to see their territory.

To summarize, what do you do and what kind of accessories do you use to have a phone show your territory effectively while being able to still see your opponent's territory?
