Pregaming for Nats

So after reading the SE regionals results page I just realized one thing in common. Every deck posted there that was not a combo deck included TGT, other than Eric. So other then TGT what will be at nationals coming up? What should people add to their decks to stop these overpowered/overplayed cards and decks? What kind of competition will be in California and how many players?

LOL, I resent that comment.  ;)

Expect to be rocked! Expect to be destroyed! Expect to be shown no mercy!

No but seriously, we are not like "oh look Garden Tomb let's put that into our decks." I will not be using it (I'm almost certain). I know of maybe one person in Cali this year that will be using it.

I would still add counters to it. I know people from other States coming and they are not as cool as us, so they might use TGT.  ;D

Sadly, I can't even tan.  I've still got a horrid sunburn on my neck from being outside for more than an hour on the 4th.

TGT gets very little play in our area, as very few Californians use more than one brigade on defense (true in both T1 and T2).  I began including it in decks for my online games, but I doubt I've won more than a battle or two vs SoCal players with TGT.

Welcome to the boards and I wish you the best at Nats.  However, don't be discouraged if you don't do as well as you expect the first time.  I remember going to my first Nats after playing seriously for about a year.  I was amazed to discover that there was a whole level there that I wasn't really prepared for.

After my second year, I was a much better deck-builder and player, but the competition at Nats was even that much stronger, causing me to finish in about the same place.

This year, I am a much better deck-builder and player, but won't be able to attend Nats.  Anyway, all that to say, have fun instead of planning on winning :)  The best part of Nats is the people there anyway!

Those are fightin' words, SoulSaver. :p Although I am definitely not tanned. I sunburn too easily. And I don't know how to surf, either. So I better be able to hold my own at Redemption Nationals.

We're having a heat wave down here, too.  Just remember the weather will be down in the 80's during Nats  8)

Seriously. That's what I was talking about. lol That's to say nothing about the 110, 111 degree days we had the last couple of weeks. 80 degrees will feel like Heaven compared to what we've been having.
