Worship:
If we finish by 7 PM, you are welcome to come to our Saturday night service in the Senior High SMC, which is lead by our contemporary worship leader, McKendree Tucker (if you recognize that name, you probably listened to Sonicflood at some point; he used to play keyboard for them).

If you stay overnight, you are welcome to join us for worship. My church has four services: a traditional service at 8:15 AM, two contemporary services at 9:45, and a blended service at 11. I normally attend the contemporary service in our Sanctuary.

OTHER NOTES:
There will be a basket available for donations as a 'thank you' to the church.  All donations will go to our youth ministry.

Also, this will be the first time we will host anything Redemption-related at this church. I ask that everyone be always on their most excellent behavior, showing good sportsmanship and brotherly kindness.

I will be about 15 miles west of Gettysburg, so I'm making a strong attempt to make it.

I realize that you said you have no overnight accomadations, but if anyone in the general area can offer me at least a floor spot in the area on Friday Night, it will greatly increase the chances I can come.

I should be able to make it, and I'm betting Chad will to.  Gonna try my best to get the rest of our crew over for this, as well.

Of coarse I will be there. I'll let Eric and a couple of my friends know. Hopefully we can all make it over. Can't wait Marti!!!!!

Yes to sealed.  It's one of three categories I haven't placed in at the state level.

I'd be doing T1-2P, T1 Multi, and Booster, beyond that, I don't care.

First, Randall's co-hosting with me. :)

Second, I'm just dropping the idea for sealed right now. I -may- add it in unofficially if we end up having time. :) Application is going in tomorrow. :)

As I mentioned, I'm currently very close to Chambersburg, so I'm doing my best to make it. I have to work Friday all day, but I'm trying to see if I can leave several hours early to make the T1-2P Friday night. If I can indeed do that though, I'm requesting lodging somewhere in the area, as I'd prefer not to sleep out of my car. Alternatively, I may (and let me stress the "may" part of this sentence) be able to have a small amount of people (Randall, this would probably be your group) stay here at the camp I'm working at. However, if that indeed becomes the case, I will need someone to either give me a ride or give me gas money. I cannot even tentatively offer lodging for Saturday night. I will talk to my boss (who's really quite reasonable) and see what I can come up with.

T1-2P is Saturday morning, I thought...

Good, had me worried there.  Is anyone planning on playing T2?
Title: Re: Official Pennsylvania State Tournament - July 23rd, 2011!
Post by: lp670sv on July 10, 2011, 08:03:10 PM
Categories I want to play:
T1 2 player
T1 multi
T1 teams
T2 2 player
Sealed

And maybe
Booster

If there is already a list in here of what's being played and something I said I wanted to play isn't on it then my apologies. This isn't me demanding what we should play, just stating that I would play all these if they are available. It's hard go read these boards on an iPod so I didn't check for a list

Edit: Now at a computer and say that we aren't even playing two of those. Can't decided between T1 2P or T2 2P at the moment.

Title: Re: Official Pennsylvania State Tournament - July 23rd, 2011!
Post by: SomeKittens on July 11, 2011, 11:01:00 PM
With that in mind, is anyone morally opposed to us sleeping in our car in the church parking lot?
Title: Re: Official Pennsylvania State Tournament - July 23rd, 2011!
Post by: TechnoEthicist on July 12, 2011, 06:44:04 AM
The city WILL not look too kindly on that for one (it's constantly monitored)...and Chambersburg is not exactly the kind of place you want to do that with anyway...and yes, there will be competitors for type 2...unless things go amazing this weekend at MD State...
Title: Re: Official Pennsylvania State Tournament - July 23rd, 2011!
Post by: TheMarti on July 12, 2011, 08:09:29 AM
Thanks Brad for mentioning that. Even though Chambersburg is not technically a city, we're a large town with city issues. KSC is right downtown, close to the "bad part" of town (but not in it), and the parking lot and church are monitored because of the high rate of poverty and homelessness in the area.

Post by: SomeKittens on July 12, 2011, 02:49:35 PM
Alright, that leads us to a problem.  We're 6 hours away, and if things start at 8, we need to leave at 2AM to arrive on time.  Is there anywhere we could lodge for free (we're college students, fancy hotels are above our budget)

Is sadly the best I can offer, and Marti can verify when she gets back from working with her students. We know the policy of the church is that people can't stay overnight or we would offer people lodging there....

SK, there's a chance I could be able to have you all spend Friday night at my house.  I live a bit over an hour away from Chambersburg.  Would need to ask my folks if that would be ok, but they're usually pretty cool about that kind of stuff.  Let me know if you can't get anything closer worked out.

So, here I am, sitting at the PA state tournament... and it's crazy. I believe that we may have broken a record of people at PA states other years. We have 33 people from 5 states.... we had to have 5 rounds of T1-2p. We're currently working on the two multi-player events, and I hope we can start booster by 5. :)

We miss you guys that couldn't make it, but it's crazy enough as is! :)
