I was blessed to be able to host the Texas State Championship games. Thank you, Rob. Thank you Roy. Reyzen was not only able to attend this event, but discovered that some of our very best players are of Philippines ancestry. It was an absolutely great time watching Roy mentor our new and older players. The McKinney playgroup is now looking forward to Roy's return on June 24th to host a local at my home. He will introduce and teach us how to play Teams (w/o speaking the language commonly used in the Philippines).
The results: Type 1-2 Player (Reyzen: 1st, Xavier Mendoza: 2nd, me third.)
Type 2-2 Player (Marcus Parker: 1st, Joseph Schaefer: 2nd and Buddy Dunn: 3rd.
Type 1-Mult (Michel Mendoza (age twelve), Reyzen: 2nd, me, third.
Type 2-Multi (Marcus Parker: 1st, Joseph Schaefer: 1st, Buddy Dunn: 1st. Yes a three way tie.
Booster Draft (Neeka Parker: 1st, Marcus Parker: 2nd and Buddy Dunn: 3rd.
We did not have time (it was 10 pm) to play Closed Deck. All the younger players had to go home before that event was scheduled to run.
A special shout out of appreciation to all those who came by and visited and to those who played during the 13 hour marathon. Thank you, Roy. I pray for your safe travel back to the Austin area.
Thank you Howard. He wrote the nicest message to me thanking me for hosting the event. Best pm I ever had.
Our play group will be traveling down to Austin to support our newest member, Reyzen, as he will be hosting Regionals on July 1st and 2nd.
