Well I put in an application to have it on March 17th, but by the looks of the new post of the Cactus site I will have to re-apply for  a later date.

So what day in April or May will be good for an Ohio State Tournament?  Any suggestions Schaef?  Any suggestions everyone else?

May 26 would be good, but I'm not sure if a Memorial Day Saturday would drive attendance up or down.  Perhaps the following Saturday, June 2?

If you're able to schedule it after many schools let out for the summer, that also factors in to the crowd you're likely to draw.

Well, May 26th will be a good candidate for the State...however the Regional could be scheduled for after school lets out (assuming we get the bid for the regional).  I think I will submit the May 26th date for State after I check with the church's event coordinator to make sure there are no conflicts.

How do people celebrate Memorial Day?  I have never really ever done anything out of the ordinary on that "holiday".  Do any of you guys have plans for that weekend?  I think a four day weekend would be perfect for this tournament, but it could just be me.  After all Schaef, you have proven to be right more times than not so far (1 right / 0 wrong)!

Better mark this day on your calendar, then  ;)

Honestly, I'm not certain.  It just strikes me as a time when a lot of people do stuff with their families and such.

Don't get me wrong, if you do it, I'll be there with bells on.

Unless my family has something going on.  :)

It's probably a question better asked of members who have hosted states, and what kind of scheduling issues they have had around that time of year.

Travis is aiming to have it out in the Middletown area or possibly Cincinnati, currently aiming at Memorial Day, though I'm trying to nudge him towards a date during summer break.  I don't have the resources or the location to put up a competing bid at the moment, so I figure it's better to try and help him get a good setup and then put the weight of the Columbus playgroup behind that.

District Tourney confirmed for March 24, 9am.

Also, YLA, I might travel up to your Type A tournament next weekend.  If there's anything I can do to lend a hand, let me know.  I will probably also bring some product.

thanks man,u're welcome to come but there may not be that many people here this time.
lets see, there is:Joshia and his 2 cousins, maybe Caleb,Travis and like 2 others he is bringing,Logan and his lil bro, maybe one other.ur welcome to play too,but maybe not use ur best deck(more like a starter).that would be maybe 11 if u play, for sure 6 people.if u could try to bring beginners too that would be great, they don't have to be "beginners".more like little experienced players or players with starter decks if they have experience.
                                                                                             thanks,
