Bummer Mark.  maybe we should try to have a district around the time your students get back to make up for it?

@ alex, that is great!  we would love to have you

Hey Mark, I'm not sure what Travis' reasons are for those particular weekends so I don't know if it could be changed.  Maybe he didn't think to ask since you hadn't been able to be up as much and hadn't had as many players in the last 2 years.

Regardless, it is always nice to get back together with all our Ohio (and honorary Ohio) players; hope it can work out to see you guys at some point.

I'm hoping this is possible :)

We actually don't usually get to make it up that way until the spring semester, so this year's pretty normal in that regard.  However, you are right that we've been down in numbers the last couple years.  However, this year we actually have a surprisingly strong playgroup.  Drew and Andy Wills have continued to just get better, and some of our newer players like David and Ian are progressing quickly.  On top of that Michael Saucedo is back, who some of you might remember as being a wunderkind back when he played a few years ago.  We also have several other less experienced players who aren't as good yet, but are enthusiastic about the game and are having a lot of fun with it :)

Regardless, it is always nice to get back together with all our Ohio (and honorary Ohio) players; hope it can work out to see you guys at some point.
Thanks for the compliment.  I'm really looking forward to seeing all you guys as well :)

I am open to suggestions. I have had tunnel vision with the local playgroup and my church schedule that I have not even considered others. My bad! I sent you a PM Mark, so hopefully we can get a consensus and have dates that work for everyone.

I have put up two changes; one that Mark wanted and one that was necessary for my own schedule. The changes may be as follows.

The District could be moved to April 23rd.

The Regional could be moved to June 17th-18th.

Commence discussion on whether or not these changes are better for the whole Ohio/Kentucky group or not. Likely these changes, if they do not conflict with any other events happening at Crosspointe, will need to stick though. I appologize for not getting everyone involved initially. It is costing me a bunch of extra work because of my own shortsightedness. Let that be a lesson to all of us and never repeat my error again...or at least try not to.  ;D

Any word on whether these changes are going to take place?  Am I really going to have a district on my birthday or do I have to settle for the local yesterday for my birthday redemption tournament?  ;)

I know this is really early to ask but... Do they have Regionals scheduled out yet like the times to each category?

I am sure he does not yet have the schedule for Regionals but if you PM him I am sure he would be willing to get it posted asap.

April will be busy for me.  I have a district  on April 1/2  a state on the 16th and another district on the 23rd.

Just a warning:  Midwest Regionals is no cake walk.  I heard they had quite the attendance of some headliners last year .

Thats ok, I'm pretty bad at this game anyway - I just throw cards that match colors onto the table and hope cool things happen.

I'm more going for the fellowship than anything.

That's fine by me as long as you only play T2 categories :)

I think the reigning T2 champ can take whatever we dish out.  But regardless, I'll look forward to finally meeting him in person, and having that fun and fellowship he's talking about :)

Hey I thought I was the only one who did that!?!

This we have plenty of!

Last year we were blessed with Ron Sias and Gabe Isbell, two former Nats champs.  Aside from them you would have to contend with the guy who placed 4th in T1 multi, T2-2 player and 5th in type 2-multi at last  years nats.....Hes a beast... the best guy to never win anything...Just sayin!

Worse case you can shack up with me.  I got room in my house and I live about 20 minutes away.  If kirk comes in he will probably shack up with travis.  Jon greeson may come in and he ususally stays at my house but i would still have room for you even if his whole family comes in.

I dont know about specifics on events and such so I cant say that but I could pick you up from either dayton or cvg (cincinnati) but I cant pick you up until the afternoon so if you fly in during hte morning you may be waiting for a while

Matt, you can pretty much (Lord willing) count me in (and likely Laurie too).  The kids are the ones that I'm not sure about.

Also, the favor will be gladly returned if you come visit me...err....play at the NY state tournament.

I should hope so ;)   My trip to NY state is dependant upon when you schedule the tournament and what my class schedule looks like this summer but I want to come.

I have three rooms for people  if and laurie take up one and John takes up another I gt room for one more in the basement...of course that is where the projector/big screen with cable and dvd is located sooooo maybe someone would prefer that one instead of the traditonal guest room...
