Is there a chance you're rescheduling your vaca?

chance? rescheduling? not at all. we are canceling it though. so nope, no chance of a reschedule, but definitely canceling it.

unfortunately, if I am to go, I probably need an adult.

I'll give Scott $6 in expired Redemption cash if he goes.*

*I'm not sure if its expired. Some of the Cash I won yesterday said 2008-2009 season.

I just thought of something: I would be willing to sacrifice my national promos to an adult/driver if it would make the difference between them coming and not coming. If we get Prof on board, that will make 5 people and two drivers, which is a nice number for starters.

Actually, it would be three drivers.... which is much more viable than two. If we can get Prof or Scott to go, things would be perfect.

Oh, RW can drive, can't he? That could make a significant difference, yes.

I also just realized that by August 11, I will have had my license for over 6 months, which I just looked up means that I can drive with up to three passengers under the age of 20, a number that happens to work perfectly. That would make 4 drivers! 6 hours per driver makes for a much smoother trip, especially if we alternate at every stop.

I would rather not drive 6 straight hours. the furthest I've ever driven was this past weekend, which was 3 and 1/2. well, 3. stupid chevy made me go fast.
of course I'm going to be driving 7ish this weekend, so....

I've driven for 3 hours straight two times, and that was a piece of cake. If we go in 3 hour shifts it should be just fine.

I would definitely drive the night shift. but only for 3 hours. :) so long as I can listen to my music, I'll stay awake.

I'm driving 6 hours this weekend. and through Chicago. I'll see how I do and perhaps my mind will be changed.

I'd definitely do that, but I would really rather drive, being as it'd be half that round trip. if need-be, I will.

I could have sworn I found a $200 flight once...but I suppose it's not available anymore. However, even that is much more than would be paid by each person sharing the cost of gas in a carpool.

Also, 22 hours in a supervan with a troll, a hobbit, a giant, and a koala? Um, yes please.

A very very nice person. ;D

NEW UPDATE: I am on the phone with the MJB and JSB right now and we are discussing the possibilities of taking a train and/or bus instead of a car. New information will be available shortly...

MEGA BUS! MEGA BUS! MEGA BUS!

except mega bus doesn't go there. I'll google it.

Mega bus IS in Boston, and it IS in Minneapolis, but it does not have any combination of buses going from Boston to Minneapolis. I tried every link possible. there's a Chicago one and a New York one. the two circuts never intersect.

Okay, so MJB just looked up Greyhound, and it turns out that they have a route going directly from Minneapolis to Boston. It would be $184 per person for a round trip and it would take 34 hours each way. Here are a few of the pros and cons:

Pros of Greyhound
Free Wi-Fi and power outlets
More comfortable (or at least more spacious and less sweaty)
No one has to drive
MJB, JSB, and possibly a few others will be able to come

Cons of Greyhound
About $100 more expensive per person
About 10 hours more driving time

I'm not sure whether meals are offered on the Greyhound, but if so add that to the pros.

I don't want anyone to get left behind that could have come on the carpool, so I hope that this option will be viable for everyone.

sorry Bill, but $100 cheaper wins. I'd do this. and spaciousness is good. of course, Carpool still wins. EmJayBee could still go on the bus...but if an Adult (i.e. Scott or Jordan) can't go, this is my first option.

Yeah, if an adult can't go, then the whole carpool thing pretty much just breaks down to nothing.
