The $300 per person right?
Yes, $300 per person should be enough to get us all there and back and pay for any expenses, unless you plan on buying a boatload of cards there.

John, does your van happen to have a TV like our old super-van had?

from Austin, MN to Boston (wasn't sure where nats was being held, I'll redo the numbers.)
Straight route: 1,387 miles (22 hours) ($416 ($104 for 4, $82 for 5, $68 for 6, $60 for 7, $52 for 8)
Steubenville route 1: 1,473(24 hours, 15 minutes) ($440 ($110 for 4, $88 for 5, $71 for 6, $63 for 7, $55 for 8
Steubenville route 2: 1,486(24 hours, 45 minutes) ($445 ($111 for 4, $89 for 5, $74 for 6, $64 for 7, $56 for 8)
Steubenville route 1: 7 Partial, 4 Toll
Steubenville route 2: 3 Partial, 2 Toll
Straight Tolls: 5 Partial, 3 Toll

mjware6 was also interested, hence why I included Steubenville routes.
Instead of going all the way down to Steubenville I can prably get dropped off in Youngstown Ohio. To cut the time off to about to 23hr. 23min.
Or I might be able to get dropped off in Akron.

would there be any chance we could crash in your backyard in a tent or something? a 2 day trip would be a lot easier, since we won't get much sleep during the tournament anyway. if not, I'd definitely say if you could be dropped off that'd be best.

If Im able to go most likely. that is a good idea so then then every one have the hotel cost. But If this does happen  and my mother lets me go with these "strangers" you would be more than welcome to stay in my 50 some acres of land.

yeah, I can definitely understand your mother's possible hesitation to sending you with a bunch of Minnesotans that you've never met... I can't think of anything I could say that would ensure her confidence...
haha, so I suppose we'd put as far away from the house as possible so they can't hear Alan snore?

I just found a hotel that's $25 cheaper and only 10 minutes away from the church!
that makes it roughly $275.

I just got thinking... don't most hotels only take credit cards? I'm probably wrong, but I think that is true.

If this is so, then an "adult" can pay for it with their card, and then we can pay them back. That should work out perfectly.

I don't understand why we wouldn't use the $70-per-night one advertised here... Is there some catch to it?

To the TV question - Yes, our van has a TV, with dvd player, and if we're lucky I could maybe convince my family to let me borrow the Wii. In response to the hotel's credit card deal, yes most only accept credit cards, but I'm guessing our adult will have one, and if they don't I do.

Didn't see that hotel. That'd be a good one.

I just wanted to point that out, to make sure we're able to pay for the hotel ;). It shouldn't matter, beings interest is calculated on the portion of the bill you don't pay.

I missed that as well. sweet. 5 bucks cheaper! now I feel like I've wasted a ton of time! alpal, did you want to go? and are you around mjware's area? if that's the case, we only have room for one more--an adult. Jordan, I'm guessing my dad would approve of you as well...

AWESOME. I'm gonna be bringing Fellowship, Two Towers, and Return of the King. I could also bring my wii, but the inverter we own doesn't have the wattage to support it. Gamecube works.

Fact. something is wrong with you. Fact.

Fact. I've watched all of them in a row at least 3 times. Fact.

Fact. I've been watching them as I go to bed this past week. Fact.

Fact. This fact is fiction. Fact.

Lol, I'm sorry. I just figured everyone else knew better than me, so I kept my mouth shut.

Well, now just hold up a second. Let's see just how many people are interested in this before we close up shop. I mean, if we have like at least ten people who want to get in on this, it would be quite possible to organize two vanfuls - it would be the same general prices for everyone, but we would give that many more people an opportunity to go to Nationals. I mean, I know how hard it is for people to get to Nationals with so little money, and I'm willing to give any help I can to make opportunities available to anyone I can. :)

true. if we could get 12 people, that'd be awesome. 10ish would allow us to take a couple vehicles with better gas milage. I like this idea.
so right now we have
RDT
Myself
BB
Sauce

and questionables
alpal
mjware
Justin
Jordan

if we could get Bany to come, and maybe we can pick up some more on the way, it'd be perfect.
just had a thought. Alan, do you think Blair would want to go? I know he works with his dad sometimes, so there's a good chance money isn't the problem. I'm almost confident he'd want to, the only question would be whether Jason would let him.

You forgot about MJB and JSB - either of them might want to come. I talked to Martin, too, and it's possible that he'll come, but it sounds like he's already planning for a plane ride, and he hasn't gotten back to me yet on the issue...

And, remember to talk to people at the district this Staurday. I mean, if there are people in Austin willing to come, that's the perfect location for them to start at. :)

ooooh, right. I had thought about them last night, but for some reason didn't think of them today.
as far as Austin goes, Belle (who will beat you if you come), Maddy, and Scott could all come. Zach, Blair and Jason could all come as well, but both families seem unlikely because they're families...

Yeah, I can almost guarantee that no one from Austin besides Ring Wraith and I (and Franta?) will be able to come.

Blair and Scott (and Franta) would be the two that are most likely to go. Blair I can seriously see going.

I do live close to mjware and I also would like to go and I have the money but for the same reason that is holing mjware back is holding me back to. My parents would not like me staying with a bunch of strangers. I will try to convince them to let me go but I am not making any promises.
