Why does nobody outside of MN play this category ;)

Why does nobody outside of MN play this category ;)
Because we don't want MN players stealing our RNRS points in other categories at the same tourneys ;).
Anyway, is there a schedule of events yet?
-
Wish I could make it! Good Luck Missouri players! Good Luck Joey!
-
Wow, if only this didn't coincide with a National tournament for a different CCG I play... -_-
-
will there be an entry fee in addition to the category fees?
-
ACe,
You sure you wont be able to make it?
KC Jon,
Just skip the other nationals man... easy solution... lol
Earley John,
If you were serious, I would probably offer teams :-X ...off the record...
Jacob,
The category fees are your only playing fees, no additional hidden activation fees or overage charges ;)
As mentioned, I'll be finalizing a schedule on June 9th, but I wanted to get
-
No im not sure! but I will find out!
-
I am serious - Its only about a 5 hour drive for me - I did 4 for WI state 2 weeks ago.
Am considering attending even if Teams isn't offered, but Teams would probably be the clincher for me.
-
Hey,
Would consider attending if I can find someone from MN to carpool with.
Why does nobody outside of MN play this category ;)
Because nobody outside of MN can field enough quality teams to make the event truly competitive.
Tschow,
Tim "Sir Nobody" Maly

Can I tempt a Tim to trip to state? I always enjoy having you at my tournys. My players usually don't, but it do, lol!
-
Hey Joey I should be there with a beginner friend of mine and maybe my friend Conner who won last time (I can't believe when he faced me he got Lampy first turn )
I should be able to come

Sounds great Chris,
Go ahead and copy&paste that survey quick so I know what categories ya'll have in mind, what to do with T2, etc...
Thanks, looking forward to having you guys again!

Hey everybody!
I get the vibe that there are a lot of people that are considering this tournament but have not made contact with me.
We have a very small venue, so it is PIVOTAL that I get a head count, if our numbers get too high I'll rent another venue.
You are urged to RSVP if you, or people you know, will be attending.

Update: As mentioned, schedule will be finalized and posted Saturday. It's difficult to pack all this fun into 1 day :)
Filling out these surveys really helps, please post or PM me if you have not indicated what event you wish to play in.
So far I have no mention of Type-2 2-Player interests, though I'm certain there will be a few.
Also heads up, I may be cutting Type-2 Multi-Player time limit from 1 hr 45 to 1 hr 30. If you have any issue with this, let me know.
Psyched for this Tournament? I know I am!
-
The time limit for Type 2 Multi-player is supposed to be 1:15...
-
In the host guide you'll see that T1-Multi is 1:15 and in the next column that T2-Multi is 1:45. Also, T1-2P is 1:00 and T2-2P is 1:30. Unless this has been overruled by side discussion or a mid-season-guide update (I downloaded mine months ago, let me know if this is the case) then these would be the standard rules.
On a side note, I run my locals with the old 45 minute type 1 rounds which accommodates 90% of games. I fear there would be a lot of frustration from uninformed players if I ventured off the guide rules for a major tournament however :-\
-
I really don't like the way it's stated in the Host Guide, but what it's trying to say is that's the amount of time that you should plan for scheduling purposes (since games can run over the time-limit due to having to finish the last round, and then there is figuring who's planning in the next round). The actual time limits for the categories are:
45 minutes: Type 1 2-player, Sealed Deck, Teams
1 hour: Type 1 Multi-player, Type 2 2-player, Booster Draft
1 hour 15 minutes: Type 2 Multi-player
-
After some discussion about possible Friday options, it looks like we'll be leaving the Type 2 events on Saturday adjacent to their Type 1 counterparts, followed up by Super Sealed at the end of the day. We'll have a full day of fun :)
Alright everybody, I'll be gone for the next two weeks volunteering at youth camps. I will be back in town Saturday into Sunday on those weeks and will try to catch up with any questions or arrangements as possible, so please PM me or leave a Post on this thread.
-
Hey,
45 minutes: Type 1 2-player, Sealed Deck, Teams
1 hour: Type 1 Multi-player, Type 2 2-player, Booster Draft
1 hour 15 minutes: Type 2 Multi-player
You're 15 minutes short for your Type 2 events. Type 2 - 2 Player has a 1 hr 15 min time limit. Type 2 - Multiplayer has a 1 hr 30 min time limit.
Tschow,
Tim "Sir Nobody" Maly
-
Interesting... We've never run into the time limit with Type 2 even with the shorter times, but that's good to know. Is there anywhere that this information is given, Tim?
-
Joey, there's still the possibility of 1-2 more people coming with my group. I'll let you know when I get a definitive answer.
-
Joey,
It's looking like 4 with me.
Me, James, Tim and Martin. - That number might change slightly depending on if I get work off or not ;) I should though.

The table in the Tournament Guide regarding time per round basically gives the information (if you accept that all of the numbers are increased by 15 minutes for time between rounds ). The sealed and Type 1 categories in the table are 15 minutes more than what you said (making what you said correct for the game play time limit) but the Type 2 categories are 30 minutes more than what you said (making you 15 minutes short on the game play time limit). We really should fix that table :)

I will be attending hopefully with 2 others.
I will be playing in T1-2P, T1-Multi, and Super Sealed
I'm going to say the others two will be playing in the same categories but don't quote me.
-
Me and Connor are the only ones goin to state
(maybe we won't play each other again!!!)
-
Does anyone have the following cards who would be willing to let me borrow them for Multi-player?
Heldai (FoOF)
Pentecost
King Saul (Purple Hero, preferably Kings)
-
If nobody else steps up, I'm almost certain I could spare to loan those cards out to you. Just happy to have you back with us again :)
What's the final count on people coming with you Jacob?

Haha, that was way too funny "and I'll block you with Phara.... wait what??? you're attacking with Pharaoh?!?!"
Thanks to everybody who made Missouri State 2012 the great time that it was. Thank you to all our out of state visitors that made the long drive to be a part of the event, and congratulations to Connor M for representing Missouri with our only in-state placement, although we consider Spencer (KS) to be one of our own as well.
My local play groupers appreciated getting to have such a big event in our own little town, it was a great opportunity to learn and grow... and, most importantly, meet some new friends in Christ.
I hope you all made some great memories, if not written in your Tournament Folders, at least etched in your mind :)
In Christ,
Joey Shivers

Great time! See you guys at Nats!
