Pretty sure you'll be familiar with the cards in the draft
Usually a certain trend happens on Saturday...and given what I've heard about what's next, it doesn't surprise me that SEALED is on Saturday....
Have fun guys. One of my closest friends is getting married August 13th in Seattle, and I am a groomsman in the wedding. I owe my plane ticket and weekend to celebrate his big day. I am now extra glad I flew up last year to play in MN.God bless,Kirk
@ everyone: Ironically, roles have been reversed in our household. I am hesitant to go to Nats because of the long distance drive and my Masters degree has not allowed me to play much with the new cards, and yet my WIFE is trying to talk/pressure/bribe/coercr/any other trick to try and get me to GO to Nats.*So it leaves me truly up in the air about the whole trip. I had originally decided not to go, but my wife continues to present a convincing case. I doubt I will be competitive, but it is always great to see some of you guys each year.

Actually I really like the schedule.Thursday: Booster and T2-mp This is great because it puts the 2nd most popular event up against the least popular event. Most people will choose Booster, but the T2 only people will still pick T2-mp.Friday: T1-2p and T2-2p This is a bit rough because some people like to play both of these, but I like it because it pulls out many of the most experienced players into the T2-2p, and leaves the T1-2p more open to the newer players.Saturday: TEAMS, T1-mp, Sealed This is also a great lineup. My guess is that most players will pick TEAMS, but it's really up in the air. Since T1-mp and TEAMS have both been up against Booster for the last several years, it has been really hard to gauge just how popular they are. So this year, they'll go head-to-head, and we'll get to see.
Question to anyone: is this the same location as in 2005?
I believe the reasoning is that putting TEAMS on Saturday gives people a chance to work on decks with their teammate on Thursday and Friday
Soul Seeker, where does your wife's family live?Kirk, bummer man...that's the reason Fortress Alstad missed Ohio Nats, hope you have a great time though!Logistically speaking, having T1 2P and T2 2P on the same day makes the most sense. After that it's a matter of separating the two most popular events besides those (Booster and TEAMS). I believe the reasoning is that putting TEAMS on Saturday gives people a chance to work on decks with their teammate on Thursday and Friday so that those who are able to coordinate with their teammate well before Nationals are not at such a huge advantage. Having Booster on Thursday also means the new cards get circulated right away. Having TEAMS and T1 MP on the same day makes sense because they are similar in format (4 players, open deck, T1 rules, etc) which means putting T2 MP with Booster. Lastly, Sealed could pretty much go on any day because it's probably not going to be a huge draw whenever it happens.
