Lots of dates getting thrown around

It has me confused.

As far as MD States, I have no idea where or when that would be. If NE Regionals were held in Bel Air, obviously someone else would have first crack at States, and the only other locations I can think of would be Joppa (Shawn's church) or out with the DiMaggio's (who I'm not sure how to contact.

I want to make sure people can attend Creation and PA States, and defer to Marti on the timing of PA States since she has been doing it that way for some time (and for good reason).

I'll be talking with our Youth Pastor tomorrow, and discuss dates and what can work for the church. I will post an update when available.

So the online community is asking for PA States to be hosted AFTER Creation, and NE Regionals in May. So to keep the tournaments spaced out that would put MD States in June.

I contacted Josiah tonight, and he said that with Jerome going to college this semester, and Josiah getting married in June, there is little time for them to plan a tournament they may not attend, let alone participate.

NE Regionals cannot take place Memorial Day weekend here, that is out unfortunately. Also, isn't May a bit early for a Regionals? Wouldn't it make sense to do MD States in May and Regionals in June, preferably a couple of weeks before Creation so as not to burn out the PA people who would otherwise come?

Putting regionals in anything but early June will result in those of us who hit all three (and there are quite a few of us) having a major tournament roughly every 2 weeks for a month and a half. I'm not necessarily opposed to this, but it's something to be aware of.

Memorial Day weekend was the weekend for our Regionals for like 3 years, hence the suggestion.

Dayne, honestly, you do whatever you think would be best for MD states. Chad and I are talking about doing PA states on July 20th (if that helps gauge anything) and then we can work on Regionals as a group. We have a unique situation down here because we can hit both state tournies due to locale, but that shouldn't affect where we put Regionals other than not having them two weeks in a row with either PA or MD states.

Still waiting to see if anyone wants to take up that banner, otherwise I'll put in for that as well. Perfectly willing to let that one go to anyone else who wants to host it with the means to.

It helps to know when PA States are, and as I said before, I completely agree with that date for you guys

Based on posts here, would late May or early June (5/31-6/1, 6/7-6/8) make the most sense all-around for Regionals, with MD States perhaps early May (?), Creation late June (ending 6/29), and PA States late July (7/20)? I think that makes sense, but we are throwing a lot of dates out and it hurts my head

Also want to hear about conflicts other states know of that need to be addressed. While we want to make sure a majority of those active playgroups in the area here get a chance to attend (which unfortunately didn't happen last year), I want to make sure other NE playgroups have the chance to come as well.

So far, I know that John M. himself has a preference for after July 4th weekend. Would July 19-20 not be good for lots of players? Since that weekend is the deadline for pre-Nats tourneys, perhaps we can make that weekend the penultimate large tourney weekend. I know that even I am eager to get Regionals near the Creation weekend. However, perhaps the new competitive players that are a fruit of Creation might wish for a couple of weeks to tweak and prepare their Type 1 or 2 decks and be able to save a bit more spending $ given more time, knowing that they would already have spent some amount at Creation itself.

As for me, and please do not make a me a basis for decision-making --- I will be in TX from May 26th to June 2nd. I would love to be in a huge tourney that weekend but I will be out of town.

I am a glad as ever that the fever to have perfect attendance to support each other's tournaments has been burning with fervor and with lots of enthusiasm. I pray that the Holy Spirit may guide us in getting the best timing for our major events ---- as soon as possible.

Gretel and I would love to see everyone, but we have two very special friends getting married on both the weekend of July 5-7th and 12th to 14th. Thus, if Regionals were actually July 19th to 20th that could work for us. Other than that we are pretty much open for May or June :p.

We were hoping for PA states on the 20th, because that's the only date I have available post-Creation to do it. Same wedding that Brad and Gretel have the first weekend, then I'm likely out of state the week after. I can do it before Creation, but that kind of defeats the purpose of PA states for the past few years. Regionals doesn't have to cater to me (so it can be the first two weekends in July), but I'd rather it not be the 20th.

My vote is for NE Regionals to be hosted at least two weeks before Creation. So anytime in between May and June is fine with me. PA States is more then likely being hosted on July 20th. Does anyone want to see what Shawn thinks? He hasn't chimed in yet on tournament dates.

From preferred dates already mentioned thus far, the suggested Fri/Sat I may be able to make it would be Jun 7/8. I will still prefer dates after Creation since we may have quite a show of hands from people who know they may not be able to make on a Friday in May and early June, until evening, due to school sked.

Ladies and gentlemen after carefully considering all of the dates provided for the many different things we will try to work around, and to fit the schedule of the church, I have tentatively booked June 7-8 as the dates for Regionals.

If you have reason these dates should not be chosen, speak now or forever hold your peace.

If nothing comes up in the next few days, then I'll put in the bid. Thanks for your patience

Sorry about not responding to you, I hadn't posted since the potential conflict had come up.

We are still going to host it on June 7-8, application is being submitted. Based on availabilities of people and the site, that is still the date. I will post more details very soon
