Here's An Intresting Idea...

Okay. So I was looking at the tournament list for the 2012 year. (And seeing Nats in Knoxville makes me happy.) I happened to notice a state tournament in Canada. (Well, state level.) This got me thinking: what if we had a Nationals tournament in Canada for a change? Granted, I'd never be able to make it, but it would be really cool to have an international tournament of sorts. What do you think?

This would be akin to putting it in Maine. Pass.

That would be a terrible idea. Canada isn't particularly strong in terms of playgroups, so not a lot of people would show up from Canada. And it'd be expensive and a huge hassle for many of us from AMMUUUUURIKA to go, with getting your passport/exchanging currency/whatnot.

Also, I don't know the metric system. Seriously. Even for mass, I use slugs. I suppose it doesn't help that my physics teacher puts everything in slinches and barleycorns to troll everyone.

It wouldn't be a good idea to have Nationals in Canada. However, if Canada does gain a large enough number of players, Cactus could consider a 'Canadian National Tournament.'

You're closer to Maine and Canada than at least 95% of the Redemption community.

Canada requires a passport now, or at least an enhanced Drivers license if you're from NY. That's an extra 30-50 dollars if I remember what each of those cost correctly. Not to mention the distance for everyone south of say Pennsylvania. Maine doesn't require a passport but it's far too remote. I might go to a Maine Nats just because I know it will have a horrible turnout, and be much easier to place because of that, but that pretty much sums up why Nats shouldn't be in Maine.
