Of course people can organize booster in any way that gives you enough cards for a legal deck but d you thinkt hat people will want/be willing to pay for booster that includes both Tep and Disciples?
Tin x priests, AW and the missing pack
Thesaurus
Disciples
What would people charge for this? $20-$25?
-
tin = $15, extra pack =$3, TexP = $5, Disciples = $5, so you're looking at $28 worth of materials, I think you'd have to charge at least $20-$25 for that.
However, I suspect that people might prefer something like this:
tin - FooF or RoA cards = $12
no extra pack = free
TexP = $5
Disciples = $5
That would only total $22, and could probably be done for $15. That would keep the old Booster price, and would also make all the "old-school" booster people happy who don't like how the FooF/RoA cards force people's draft in certain directions. Plus you get to keep the FooF/RoA cards for your playgroup (since those cards are harder to get extras of).

I dont think I could offer the tins and the two boxes at $15.00 without losing money. I am sure there are people that can, but I just cant get them that cheap.
I wonder how the apostles packs will help the disciples boxes.

Something to point out with this is you need to do all Foof, or all ROA otherwise you will have pack mismatch requiring the extra pack.

At most tournaments, you can just run FooF or RoA, add TexP, and add Disciples. Retail for that is $25, so I imagine that most hosts will charge between $15 and $20 dollars, depending on their stock. At States or Regionals, it seems like you will be using split tins, so you toss in the extra pack, upping the retail to $28, so I imagine that most hosts will be charging between $20 and $25 dollars. I would pay that at a Regional Tournament.

Do you think people would rather play with TeP or disciples or both?(given the extra cost)
-
I think it depends on your group, but for me, if I'm playing booster draft and paying for it, I don't see why I shouldn't just go all out and pay for both. I don't think $5 is going to stop anyone from playing. If you have enough money for BD + TexP, you typically have enough money for BD + TexP/Disciples.

I don't get this. If you can do your original suggestion ($28 of product) for $20 then you lose $8. My suggestion was to do $22 of product for $15 which is losing $7. How, can your original suggestion (losing more money) be doable, and mine not be?
Also, I think that the old price of $15 is about as high as many people can go. If they bring a $20 bill to a tourney, they have $15 for booster, and $5 for the open categories. If you charge more than that for booster, you will lose some people. However, Alex is right that the people who can afford the $20 can also probably afford the $25.

At our state tournament we had Unlimited, Prophets, Women, Patriarchs, Apostles, Kings, Angel Wars, Priests, and Thesaurus. The only one we didn't include is Warriors. I was able to offer this for $15. I would like to include Disciples once they come out, and I plan on checking with the players here to see if they want the price increased or want to drop a couple of the regular packs. We try to price things so that we don't make a profit and can offer as much as possible to our players!
On a side note, if anyone is doing what Mark suggested and using the tins without the Faith of Our Fathers or Rock of Ages cards, I would be glad to trade Women packs for the tin cards. I'm trading one Women pack per set of Faith of Our Fathers or Rock of Ages cards right now.

mark, i didnt say I could do that. I am not sure where you are getting that. The cheapest I can get the tins at is a little over $10 or so. The cheapest I can get the boxes is about $3.50. so just for tins and boxes, I am looking at $17.00. so I lose $2.00 on every BD entry fee offering that.
I mean, I have done it before, and offered stuff at below cost, often when I know I can make it up in entry fees and such, but I dont think people should expect that to be the norm because my first thought is to make it break even so that I can continue to host tournaments. If I lose too much money (like I have on some districts) then it hinders my ability to afford other tournaments down the road
not to mention it makes things tense at home when I have to explain why we have to eat a $30 pizza bill because the tournament didnt bring in enought money

Yeah, well comparing your costs to my cost inst exactly comparing apples to apples. :-\ I cant get womens for below $3.00 on any consistent basis.
Doing it without the tins might be easier but that is only because I hoard all the packs i win so technically there is no cost if I offer those for the booster draft so technically I guess I could offer BD for $3.00 with Womens (no tep) if I gave away all my winnings ;)

Sorry. I misunderstood your first post to mean that you could offer a tin, extra pack, TexP, and Disciples all for only $20 min or $25 max.
P.S. I definitely don't want you losing money and stopping hosting, or having problems at home over eating pizza bills. If fact, I'd recommend avoiding eating any bills. They are high in fiber, but really not very nutritious :)

It is finding the balance between charging too much and charging too little that is the tricky part ;)
