Multiple Tourney Participation

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but it is something that interests/concerns me.  While looking at the points leaders for different tournament categories, myself and another member noticed something rather peculiar:  It is theoretically possible to place first in one category/type in your own state tournament, and go to other state tournaments, win first place in the EXACT same category, and effectively eliminate the possibility of anyone from that state gaining the coveted 25 points awarded to first place.  While only the points for one of the state tournaments counts, why should someone be able to eliminate the chance for another player (Who actually lives in that state) to place first?

I may be misunderstanding the situation, but unless you can hold 2 state tournaments in one year, you would have to travel to another state in order to participate in a second or third state tournament.  While I think participation shouldn't necessarily be barred from those outside of their respective state, I DO however think that it should NOT be possible to win twice in the same category.  For example: If I were to place first in Type-1 Multi-player in Florida, I shouldn't be allowed to compete for Type-1 Multi-player in Georgia because the points wouldn't count.  Otherwise, the players who actually live in Georgia might miss out on 25 points in Type-1 Multi-player should I place first once again.  And since states is only once a year, that hardly seems fair or logical.

What is the point in stating anything?  You've clearly made up your mind that it's wrong (and gave reasons why you think so), and you have indirectly attacked everyone who goes to multiple tournaments and have seen success.  What are you wanting to hear, an apology, a rule change, players "taking it easy"?

It took me three state tournaments to get the win in the category I wanted.  So yes I also have points that wont count 12 for a second.  It all apart of the fun, fellowship and competition of redemption.  Aside from the NRNS points, your saying I should/would be bared from trying to win redemption cash in a category I may have won or placed in at another tourney. That is just silly.  (Especially since I have or had to travel 6 plus hours for all but one of them.)

In Christ love,

You know what, just never mind.  If you guys are so angry and defensive over someone questioning the current tourney system, then I'm just going to leave it alone.  The hostility that I have received from this question is quite bothersome; since, after all, I was simply questioning and NOT declaring that something HAS to be done about it.
