I'm waiting on Matt. When does sealed expect to finish? As long as I'm finished with everything before 3AM I won't complain much :-*

That depends on two things...

    1) The number of players who are interested in joining in in a T2 Sealed tournament.

    2) The starting time which will be based on the arrival time of the players.

So, opening this up to the group of players who are planning on attending the (Fifth?!?--can that possibly be correct?) Annual MN Type 2 Only Blowout...

    1) Would you be interested in playing in a Type 2 Sealed event for $15*?

     2) What time are you planning on arriving at the tournament on Friday evening?

*$15 would get you either 2 G or 2 H decks, a smattering of evil commons/uncommons to balance the starting numbers, and your choice of a FoOF or RoA tin under discussion with Wild Bill.

I would very much like to do T2 sealed, especially if I have the option of returning the cards for a refund after the event.

I can come on Friday evening as early as right after dinner, which will probably mean like a 7:00-7:30pm arrival.

1. I'll be there.
2. ^ @ 6:00

Just out of curiosity, Matt. Do we get to choose which tin we want, or do we just get to choose which set it's from? Because if people got to choose their tin, you'd probably better stock up on tins 18 and 19. Those will be by far the most popular.

My original idea was to let people give me one choice of tin for each deck (G or H), and I would stock up on the tins requested. After e-mail from Wild Bill, I am rethinking this plan, however.  Give me a couple of days and I will have something more definitive.

If that were the case, I'd vote we try to include E/F if possible for more variety.

I like the idea of more variety.

The two Real Elders/True Proffessors that reside in the Twin Cities are putting their combined wisdom together (we can't do it in person because we would be too tempting a target for Al-Qaeda) and I think you will like format for Sealed-Type 2.

Yeah I found the box in my garage. I got it from Matt three years ago. I also found a box of Womens which we will throw in for sealed deck. So everybody will get one Womens pack for sealed along with the rest. You think my trunk has alot of redemption stuff in it, my garage is really loaded.

Dearest Favorite Bill,

I need a place to sleep. May I throw a sleeping bag in your garage? I will make you the Jesse James promise not to take anything.

No problem as long as you can get along with my two guard dogs. I probably won't be feeding them till after the tournament. I had to get them because when I was gone, the Hobbit would sometime open a box of packs just to get a couple cards he needed for a new deck.

Hey,

So, opening this up to the group of players who are planning on attending the (Fifth?!?--can that possibly be correct?) Annual MN Type 2 Only Blowout...

I believe this is the 7th year of the tournament.  I know it's at least the 6th, becuase I've attended 4 and wasn't able to make it to the first one.  I think it was mentioned at one point that Justin won the first two, I won the next two, and Gabe won the last two, which would make this year's the 7th Annual MN Type 2 Only Blowout.

I'll have to dig into the archives and verify how many we had. This could be the 7th. But I do know that this will be the toughest. With all three of our past winners in attendance, 2 or 3 flyins, Banys thinking of playing, the Austin-Rochester gang, the KC gang, and don't look past the proffessor or the hobbit. Now all we need is Gabe to bring Kevin, Ron Sias to show up on a business trip and Brian to show up with his son pretending he has a Math conference in the twin cities.

Oooh, a math conference, can I go?

We really should get Rob to show up at one of these.

T2 Sealed Rules and Regulations

1) Players will be allowed to bring up to 7 additional Lost Souls with no SA to the game.

2) A Player and his opponent will be given the option of playing either E&F decks or G&H decks

3) Once we know which pair of decks will be used by the two players, each player will be given the opportunity to choose 6 booster packs.
    a. Packs available will include all currently available packs from Unlimited through Priests.
    b. No more than three of any one type of pack can be selected.

4) In addition to the six booster packs each player will be allowed to choose 1 Women, 1 TexP and 1 Disciples pack.

5) Once the players have received their 9 (did he say 9?!?) booster packs, the host will randomly choose one of E/F or G/H (depending on choice in step 1) for each player.

6) Each player will receive two copies of their randomly selected deck. (Say two G decks)
    a. The duplicate Good Dominants must be removed, so each player will have one SoG and on AotL
    b. The duplicate Evil Dominants must be exchanged between opponents, so each player will have one CM and one Burial

7) The players will have up to 1 hour to open packs, trade with their opponent, and build their deck.

8) Standard T2 2-Player deck building and play rules will be enforced.

T2 Sealed Costs and Starting Times
« Reply #98 on: February 17, 2011, 08:54:09 AM »

Cost:
The cost for T2 Sealed will be $20 per player. This will get you duplicate starter decks, six boosters packs of choice (no more than three of any one type), 1 Womens, 1 TexP, and 1 Disciples.

If at the end of the tournament a player and his original partner choose to return their two copies of the starter decks in "good shape" they will each be issued a refund of $10.

Long story short: $10 if you return your starter decks/$20 if you decide to keep them.

Schedule:
The first games will start (meaning choosing packs, etc.) no earlier than 6:00 pm.

We plan to do a rolling start for this event.
    a. As a pair of players are available we will have them start
    b. We will match up winners against winners as soon as two games complete.

I ask that players who join the tournament be willing to commit to playing two games.
