Round 1
The first game, I used a deck with 18 heroes out of 112 cards. I proceeded to draw none for 5 rounds and then Alan revealed my first hero to the bottom. Therefore, I started attacking on turn 7. At that point, Alan had played SoG, NJ, Grapes, DoN, and Burial. I had to rip a Plot to try to hold him off, but it was over before it started. 7-1
Round 2
I played Eli Riley, a newer T2 player in the 2nd round. I had switched decks to my backup deck and won 7-4. I discarded his Son of God from deck on the 3rd or 4th turn. However, both of us failed to realize he had J Tower out!
Round 3
I played Josh Brinkman and he was using one of Craig Fountain's decks. I got an early chance to discard from his deck on turn 4, but he had fortunately drawn Son of God that very turn. Therefore I settled for Darius' Decree. I won 7-2.
Round 4
I played against Jordan Alstad and knew it would be a fun game. The game was slow moving, as I expected with two defensive players such as us facing off. I got set up eventually but accidentally played a card wrong, allowing Jordan to stay in the game. By the time I got it set again (about 15 min later), the clock was almost done and I could not catch up. I had an early discard once again from deck, and instead of hitting his Son of God, I went for Samaritan Water Jar to avoid possibly getting my important cards stuck. He discarded NJ from deck bottom with Gates of Hell, so it would not have mattered in this instance, but it was an interesting gamble nonetheless. He won 4-2.
Round 5
I played against a young player named David. He was playing at his first T2 tournament. I got set up on turn 2, which was terribly unfortunate for him. He was good natured and thought the combo was really cool and kept saying he wished he could make such a deck. It was good to know I didn't frighten him with it, as has often been the case when I have played younger players in T2. He drew SoG/NJ and got a soul after attacking with Hur. 7-3 me.
Overall, I think I got 7th place or something. 10 points, +4 LS. It had been 7+ months since my last T2 game and I didn't know my deck changes very well since I made them so last minute, so I was pleased to only make one misplay when using such an unfamiliar, convoluted deck. Usually I have to know the exact contents of such to play effectively. I enjoyed played 5 rounds outside of nationals and getting some practice with decks!
T2 Multi
I fell asleep while making my deck and slept through most of the event! I knew I should go to sleep when I was so disoriented that I had put half of my copies of Spirit of Temptation with my purple TeXP cards and couldn't find them! Jordan and Nathan tried to wake me up, but apparently I told them a bunch of gibberish and "no."
NC players use more artifacts than in other regions for T2, but they don't prepare very well for site lock. I saw Prophets, Garden Tomb, Judges, and Jacob/Captain/RTC offenses. I saw demon, Babylonian, and brown/orange defenses.
