It would be nice to see him! Perhaps he will make it to Nats ?
It would've been great to see you too Rob! I didn't make it to Nats this year, but perhaps I'll be able to in 2026. Currently I have to drive my kid to North Dakota for college around the same time, and can't make back-to-back trips that far.
The AR State tournament was awesome! Having Roy and Terry there was just a special treat, and I really appreciate them making the drive to join us. Jamie did a great job hosting. The venue was perfect, thanks to my friend Stephen. And we had some top tier judging with the extra addition of Redemption Elder, Joe, who I just met and appreciated some of his outside-the-box thinking on the future of Redemption.
There were about a dozen players and we covered 5 different categories during the tournament.
T1-2p (Classic)I played in this one with 3 others. We went 3 rounds, so everyone played everyone. I ended up winning this one in a close game over Joshua, who I remember had really strong defense.
Sealed DeckThere were I think 6 players in this event. I think Joe won, and I remember hearing that 2nd place was a young kid who was playing Sealed for the first time. So that's fun.
T1-TEAMSI wasn't here for this event, and can't comment on what happened.
Booster DeckI wasn't here for this event, and can't comment on what happened.
T1-2p (Rotation)We had 8 players in this event, and we went three rounds. I won my first two games and ended up going against Joshua again in the championship. This time his defense was extremely strong again, and we ended with a timeout, which he was winning. It was a great event, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
Lots of people opened prize packs and discovered amazing cards. And the overall tournament was just a big boost for excitement about Redemption in general here in Arkansas. The plan is to start having regular playtimes and more regular tournaments throughout this coming year.
