We held our first tournament of the year (unofficial) in October and had only Booster and T1 2-player events.  It was a fun tournament, and we are looking forward to our first official tournament in December, which will be a district level.  The results from our October tournament are below.

Booster:
Prof Underwood
Michael Saucedo
Nathan Schiro

T1 2-player:
Nathan Schiro
Prof Underwood
Michael Saucedo

There will be a District Tournament here at Oakdale Christian Academy on December 7th and 8th.

I will be putting together a schedule soon, and would welcome input regarding anyone planning to attend and what categories they prefer to play.  Just to let everyone know, the Booster Draft will be old school (ie. no FooF) if that affects anyone's decision.

Redsfest is that same weekend and Laurie and I were thinking about going.  I may split the weekend between you and Redsfest so it would help me to have a calendar, and I'll make my decision from there.  Thanks.

If you could do Type 1 2-player Friday evening or Saturday morning, that would be great because I may have to go to Indianapolis for a church interview for a 2nd time that Sunday on Dec. 9 (if it progresses that far.) If that is the case, my wife and I could probably come for Friday night and Saturday morning for it. Don't know if this helps or not.

Where? Is it on Friday? I have never attended a tourny before and I am in TN. I'm interested.

Jan 26th is actually a Saturday, and we would be glad to be your first tournament.  There will probably be a couple of other people here for their first tournament as well.

We are at Oakdale Christian Academy in Jackson, KY 41339, which is in the Southeast part of the state.  I hope that is close enough that you can join us.

OK, here's some details about our tournament Sat Jan 26th

Basic schedule along the lines of:

Sat 12:30pm =            multi-player T1 & T2
Sun 2:00pm =             Booster & Closed

Cost is the same as usual: $5 for each open event, $10 for each closed event.

The results are in after another great tournament  :)  We had playgroups from 3 states (KY, WV, KS) facing off this time and everyone took home something.  For those keeping track of the 18 placing positions, WV took 9, KY took 7, and KS took 2.  Of the winners, KY took 4, and WV took 2.  Top player of the tournament honors go to Tina E. and Brian R. who both came in 1st, 1st, and 2nd in the 3 events that they played.

Booster
1st - Brian R.
2nd - Tina E.
3rd - Nick F.

Closed
1st - Mark U.
2nd - Dawn D.
3rd - Michael D.

T1 Single
1st - Brian R.
2nd - Nate S.
3rd - Nick F.

T2 Single
1st - Tina E.
2nd - Tim S.
3rd - Michael D.

T1 Multi-player
1st - Mark U.
2nd - Brian R.
3rd - Nate S.

T2 Multi-player
1st - Tina E.
2nd - Nick F.
3rd - Scott ?

It is also interesting to me that this is the 3rd tournament in a row that we have hosted and someone has pulled a GoYS out of a pack in either Booster or prizes.  It is the 2nd tournament in row that we have hosted and someone has pulled a Michael's Sword.  In fact, we had over half a dozen ultra-rares pulled at this past tournament.  So if you want some good pack-pulls, this is the tournament to come to.

Just wanted to announce on here that we will be having a District level tournament in a couple weeks (April 4th-5th), and we would love for anyone to come join us.  We are going to be running the event with the same pairings as Nats '08 so that we can all get some practice at the categories we plan to play there.

That means:
Closed Deck and T2-2p on Fri evening,
T1-2p and T2-mp on Sat morning, and
Booster (old style) and T1-mp on Sat afternoon

We will also have some doughnuts etc. available for brunch on Sat and a full supper in the dining hall Sat evening.  It would be nice if you chipped in a few bucks for the food, but if that is going to keep you from coming, then don't worry about it.  I'd rather have your presence than your $5 :)

At this point the plan is to start at 7pm on Fri evening.

I don't recognize your user name, where are you coming from?  It is possible that I could adjust the time slightly if it would make a difference for you.

Hey Mark! Just wanted to let you know that there is a possibility of 5 of us coming from Indianapolis for the Disctrict. There is 3 for sure now plus I talked to the old group in Huntington, WV and all 3 of them should be coming. We will probably be leaving early Friday afternoon since it wil be spring break around here. Looking forward to seeing all of you again!

We'll be glad to have you and your new Indy group joining us Brian.  We're also glad to have our pals from WV come join us again.  I'll try to remember to get that borscht recipe before they arrive :)

We regret that New Raven won't be able to join us this time, but perhaps you can make it for our next tournament (probably in July).

Thanks for the info.  Not to be pesky but what times are you planning for the Sat. events?  I have talked to Travis, Rod, Jacob, and Matt and all are interested in coming but I don't have any definite answers yet.  I don't think any of us would be able to make it for the Fri. night events (because of work, Bible study, etc.)  but we might want to drive down late Fri. instead of leaving at 5:00 A.M. on Sat.

We plan on starting at 9am on Sat morning with the T1-2p and T2-MP events.  We will try to get in 4-5 rounds of T1-2p and 2 rounds of T2-MP.  This should finish up around 12:30pm.

Then the plan is to start T1-MP and Booster around 1pm.  We will try to get in 2-3 rounds of both of these and finish up around 4pm.  Then we'll do some awards, some door prizes, and head to supper at the cafeteria at 4:30pm.

As for coming late Fri night, that is not a problem at all.  Just let me know ahead of time so that we can put away the china roll out the red carpet :)

This past weekend was another great tournament here in the Bluegrass.  We were honored to be joined by 2 playgroups from OH, and a brand new playgroup from IN.  Each playgroup came away with some victories and there was a spread of 6 different people finishing first in a category.  There were really close games and in the Type 1 events, really close overall finishes.

Thanks to all who came, and hopefully we'll see you again pretty soon!

T1-2p
1st - Jon Greeson
2nd - Mark Underwood
3rd - Jon Pequinot

T1-MP
1st - Jon Pequinot / Mark Underwood
3rd - Nate Shiro / Brian Reid

T2-2p
1st - Mark Underwood
2nd - Michael Saucedo

T2-MP
1st - Michael Saucedo
2nd - Rod Stewart
3rd - Allen Collins

Closed Deck-2p
1st - Brian Reid
2nd - Nate Schiro
3rd - Michael Q.

Booster-MP
1st - Jacob Stroh
2nd - Jon Greeson
3rd - Rebeccah Collins
