The first few TLG events have been posted. Very soon you will too be able to host a TLG event at your location. More on that to come later. So what do you think about the prices of our events (keep in mind that we are offering about double the prizes of a standard Cactus event? What are your thoughts about the Alternative Rules being used for our events? Would you host one in your areas if you were given the opportunity (if yes, then just wait a little longer cause it's coming)?

What's the difference between a State Open and a Circuit Open? How are they different than Sanctioned tournaments?

I assume "Open" means anyone and everyone. I like the thought of trying new rules out...even if I'm personally not a fan of the Mulligan. It's definitely wise to playtest these rules in larger tournaments. Looking also at the Booster rules...I like the idea of 2 player booster, my question is in regard to the opening of packs in pods if the group is more than 10 people. Since most packs of cards have 10 cards some in a larger group would not see a pack at all. Yes everyone would still have opportunity and get the same amount of cards, but just wondering on your thoughts about larger pods. I personally like smaller groups so you have the chance to see a card come back around, with a larger group, this is not possible. Thoughts? I will try to make the State one in June.

Just a little clarification since I have not made the pages that explain it live on TLG yet. There will be four levels of events: Circuit OPEN, State OPEN, Regional INVITE, and Championship INVITE. Circuit events are at the same level at Local/District Cactus events, State with State Cactus events, Regional with Regional Cactus events, and Championship with National Cactus events. The differentiation between OPEN and INVITE is whether or not players will be granted free entry to events based on previous tournament performance. For instance, at a State OPEN any player who finishes in the top 2 of a particular category will be given an invite to the Regional INVITE at which they will have free entry into that event. At Regional INVITES the same thing will happen in that those who finish top 2 in each category will receive an invited to the Championship INVITE. It is not about making those top two levels exclusive but giving those who perform well at the level before them a small bonus for that.
