Don't most churches have a backup pastor in case the pastor is sick?
Yeah, but I don't think that works for card games.

What does Rob think of this?
If you stew cranberries like applesauce, then they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does.

I liked the games, just didn't like being there until 12:00 at night to actually play them
An unanswered question is infinitely better than an unquestioned answer.

What does Rob think of this?
I was just thinking about this old thread as we are getting to the time of year when people are probably making bids on hosting Nats.  I think there were some good ideas discussed in this thread and hope that anyone making a bid would consider them.  I also would love to hear Rob's thoughts on the matter :)

One problem with doing a sunday afternoon is if the tourney is at a church it needs to be cleaned up or set back up saturday night for the church.  If it isn't cleaned and set back up because everyone is planning on playing more on sunday that could pose a problem.  Also, although I've never been to a Nats I'm going to assume that Sunday is a travel day many times and if there are more games or categories that travel day becomes monday which means another day off taken which makes Wednesday just as viable an option.  The one thing about a 4th day is it would be optional so not everyone has to make it or stay for it if they couldn't or didn't want to.
I never want to grow up, hmmm maybe thats why I'm a youth pastor.

The main problem is that there isn't a 4 day span during the week when churches don't have much going on. Most churches have Wednesday night activities and Sunday morning activities. 4 day nationals seems really difficult to pull off unless nationals is at a non-church location like the hotel from this last year.

Which I wouldn't recommend unless you have no large church options and you can get a really good deal.
