GA State Tourny Report

I had everything set up for like a 20 person event and it looked like no one was going to show up. Then redemption99 and psomaster showed up and made everything ok.

T1-MP
1st - Clift Crysel
2nd - William Dunehew (psomaster)
3rd - Chris McCravy

Here I ran Disciples and SimeontheZealot/4DCoin were the stars of the show against a very annoying deck discard deck. Phillip/Bart attack was too strong for most and Matthew/Boat ruled the day. Oh Yea...I forgot to add my NJ in this deck and barely won. Pharisee's never helped really but who needs defence in multi anyways. When I realized Will wasnt playing any defence I attacked him every chance i could.

T2-MP
1st - Chris McCravy
2nd - Clift Crysel
3rd - Logan Lowry

We played until 6 AM and I hate multiplayer so…after the event everyone slept about 2 hours while I cooked breakfast and waited for Tyler and Knoxville crew to show up.

9AM:

T1-2P
1st - Clift Crysel
2nd - Chris McCravy
3rd - Chris Fachman

I feel somehow I slipped away with a win here due to opponents having bad draws and my speed as I chose to play white TGT females with ET+AoC and Gabriel (Di) to recur Consider the Lillies. The offence was superb with Susanna stealing the show, but my defense was lacking and I chose to play pure orange with Two Possesed for support. Oh Yea, my nephew threw up before the event started. He should have ate some skiddles so he could have tasted the rainbow!

Booster
1st - Daniel Young (CarlDuety)
2nd - Chris Fachman
3rd- Clift Crysel, Chris McCravy (redemption99) (tie)

The Knoxville guys draft all the time and believe me it showed. They dominated this event. CarlDuety drafted Judges tin with white sites while Crashfach pulled green/silver Prophets (seraph). I drafted at the same table with these two and pulled TGT with Consider the Lillies (I needed another one of these), a Nathan that was passed to me from Crash, and a Zacceus that Duety never saw. Only thing I never saw to make my red splash complete was a Peter and Jephthah to go with my 2 Battlecry's and Wheel within Wheel. I drafted an Orange/Brown The Ram with Two Horns from Disciples to go with my persians but never saw a gibtrick or korahs rebellion anywhere...

Ahh Yes! Type 2 2 Player. My favorite event by far and one of GA's strongest events. I was surprised Knoxville didnt place. Mr. Hiatus WHERE ARE YOU! no show for GA State and Im still worried as he hasnt returned any phone calls. Everyone keep Tyler in your prayers until we here from him.

I decided to run yup you guessed it TGT/ Orange today- Hey! why not...

My Type 1 choice was just thrown together from my Type 2 deck and here the defence really shined with Trembling Demon abuse. HoH up I block with Trembling Demon, ls protected and i play two possesed to set aside opponents EC for my TGT to walk in next turn.

On offence I play he is risen to band in Gabe (Di) to recur he is risen/bennedictus via consider the lillies over and over and over...man this deck was fun and it was my first TGT Type 2 deck because I finally got x5 He is Risen's.

Glad nobody played Cov. of Abraham but i noticed I was packing x2 Destructive Sins which negates it anyways...YES!

I played against a Samaritan WaterJar deck and got hit early with Jars due to Magi/AoC support but was lucky I got Gates of Hell out first which saved the day. As soon as all my uniques were set aside I Gates my whole deck and now I got a Type 1 deck with infinite recursion on both offence and D FTW!
I also faced a mean Zebby deck with heretics and had answers for Zeb/Jacob RTC with Destructive Sin and Two Possesed for any uniques. Frustration kicked in for my opponent as he had to sit there with no way to get Zeb/Jacob back and wasnt packing Decree to kill his own guys so he could attack. He misplayed by not recurring Land Dispute with Abes Kid off my Golgotha that he stole to kill my TGT.

My Salome getting I am Grace to kill his Wolves in Sheeps Clothing and ET+AoC off of bennedictus sealed the deal.

Props:
Gabe (Di)
Everyone having a good time.
Me finally beating that Zeb deck.
Buying Lunch weeks in advance a little at a time on sale and freezing it.
I found Redemption Cash for winners.
Pulled consider the lilies in draft for type 2 deck and traded for one
TGT kept following me around all day and I was like Hey! Why Not…

Slops:
No Tyler. No Eric. No new players. I worked hard demo’ing the game and was sure that 6 new people would show. BOO!
Lunch was almost a disaster until it all came together.
A/C went out- luckily huge ceiling fan saved the day.
I almost lost Redemption Cash for winners.
This is the way Lackey gave it to me. All hail the power of Lackey!

thanks RTS for the report.  Hang in there brother with demoing the game to newbies, they will come.  God's Law of Seed, Time & Harvest.  My brother & I for about a whole year gave out starters to people left & right and had no growth, but we reaped this year.  We had 3 players stick and are coming to tourneys consistently now praise God and reaped another location to host tourneys publicly.

I will say, that a lot of people are slow in making the transition into something new right now.  I've introduced the game to at least 10 new players in the last few years.  I know that all of them did enjoy it, but only one has actually starting playing.  I still have few that enjoy and play once a month or so, but you hold out hope that maybe a couple of more will really catch on and start it up.  Just be patient, this is a hobby that can potentially cost quite a bit of money, and in these times, persistance and encouragement can win out!
