I stopped playing Redemption a few years ago because there seemed to be no more tournaments in California. Has this changed? I can't find anything! Also, if I were to jump back into the game, how far behind would I be? I stopped playing during the Disciples expansion.
Thanks!

So much has changed...

There is a new brigade called clay. it is based around the churches in acts and onwards, most of the characters being missionaries and characters in certain churches who make up specific decks based around each church. Then last year, the Cloud of Witnesses expansion came out and blew up the whole game. There are 3 main cards that you need to know about.

1) the Second Coming.
A new good dominant that allows you to search your deck or discard for any good dominate. However, you cannot have it in the same deck as new jerusalem. this card is $140 on three lions gaming.

2) Moses (CoW)
moses got an new reprint and it is SOOOO strong. He is an 8/8 White, Gold, and Green, Judge, Prophet, and Musician. His special ability is "Negate lost souls, enhancements and characters in territories (except cloud cards*) While in battle, negate enhancements and characters in territory. (Except cloud cards*)" And he's territory class. it's like CWD on steroids.

3) Coliseum
This is probably the biggest game changer. this is an evil, NT fortress. It's special ability is "negate all protect abilities on cards in the field of battle. Toss all enhancements played in battle that have 'Cannot be negated' in the special ability or that have no special ability."
toss is a mechanic introduced in Persecuted church. "A toss ability allows a player to play an enhancement in a different way than usual; instead of activating the numbers or special abilities of the enhancement, the enhancement is discarded to decrease an opposing character by X/X (where X is the strength of the discarded enhancement), regardless of protection or immunity."
coliseum basically gets rid of any cbn battle winners that were super meta before.
Some call me "Goofus"

I live in Pasadena, CA and we have Redemption meet up from time to time. You're always welcome to come and play. I play a lot with the top players online so I'm pretty up to speed on the game if you have any questions.

I'd be down to come out for one sometime! I haven't played in forever, so idk how it'd go with all the new cards and stuff haha but Let me know when your next one is, and I'll see what I can do!

I mean honestly I think this is the most fun redemption has ever been as long as you are willing to learn and try many themes! Lackey is great for this are you familiar with it?
