Just curious....I've never been to Regionals.  Where are you located if you host?

Sorry I forgot the location-Colts Neck, NJ. We hosted NE Regionals 3 or 4 years ago, and have hosted NJ States several times. I have two sons who are qualified tournament hosts to help me as well. (If you were at Nats this past summer, we were the ones with the zombie game.)

EDIT: I just remembered that  my daughter turns 15 in December, so at one of our locals we're going to break her in to hosting, too. But she's not ready for Regionals yet.

I'd actually be pretty okay with a NJ (to answer your question Dermo...) Regional. Maryland got it two years ago, and MA got it last year. Something in the middle would be alright with me, and then maybe Greeson (or someone else in that west-NY area) could it have the year after he wanted it? At any rate, I would support your bid.

I agree with a middle location, but you got that backwards I hosted it last year in Maryland.

2) What weekend would be good for people in relation to Memorial Day? I can have the weekend before, after, and Memorial Day weekend itself.

I know that the weekend itself will be a mixed bag.  Because everyone always has off, you'll have a lot of people who will love that date and a lot of people who already have yearly obligations for that weekend, because annual summer activities are set up in advance.  For example, I can do Memorial Day weekend, but my brother always has a bible quiz event that is scheduled then and will not be able to come.  Not sure how many people have that issue, but I'd be more in favor of the before-or-after weekends.

Sorry, I've been out of the loop for a little while. I can still host at Colts Neck, just need to know which weekend would be best for the most people. I can do Memorial Day or the week before; the 1st weekend the church has a men's breakfast, although I could talk to the guy who does that and see if we can work around it if that's better. The church is prepared for me to request use of the facility for a weekend in May (maybe in June, too, if no one else wants to host NJ States and we do it after Regionals).

As mentioned earlier in this thread, your location is likely best for this year from a participation standpoint.  We (Maryland) had it, then it was Boston the year before, so something more in the middle would be best for all in the region.  If you have a spot to host it and the will, I say put it in

I think colts neck is a great spot for NE Regionals. I would prefer the May 16+17 weekend. It makes sense to avoid Memorial day. We have had it on that weekend in the past and have had tepid results.

The next time we host it in Mass it will probably be much closer to the western part of the state so it will be easier on the NY,PA,NJ & MD travelers.
