First Place Prizes

This may not belong here, so a Mod can move it wherever.

I was curious about how Hosts distribute the "random TexP" prizes in lieu of Chariot of Fire/Harvest Time. With the latter, there was never an issue because every event winner got the same card. However, with the TexP cards, winning the first event seems to be more beneficial, if Hosts let the player choose which TexP card they want. Or have hosts been "assigning" the TexP cards to an event?

I just wanted feedback about what hosts are doing, hopefully before tomorrow.  ;D

I've added the "winners" texp cards to other extras I already have, then let the winners choose the one they want. That way there's a large enough selection that it doesn't matter if one winner gets to pick before another.  The one exception is that one of the random texp Rob sent me was Mayhem. I gave that away in a random drawing for all the participants and gave away one of my own texp as the winners prize.  I didn't think it would be fair to give one winner the Mayhem and not give the others a chance.  I'd do the same thing if I was sent a Grapes.

Bryon mixes up the six or seven winner's cards he has for the tournament, and lets each winner choose one of the remaining cards at random.

That was my concern. One of the cards I got was High Places. Even though it is not the same caliber as the dominants, it is still more desirable than Salome and Consuming Fire.  ;D

This is what I was wondering. How many people make the choice random.

I also turn them upside down and allow the players to choose at random.

Our groups not cool enough for TexP prizes ;) So I just pick up my Harvest Time. I'm sure if we were doing TexP though it would be random.

Thanks for the responses. I have decided that the "random" option is the most fair option for the TexP. I will just lay out the Harvest Time and Chariot of Fire face up, and the TexP face down, then say, "Pick one!"  ;D

The Random TeP card is supposed to be well ... random.  Therefore, the winner should not be "choosing" the card.  The Host should shuffle available TeP cards, place them face down and have the winner draw his card.

At our district this past weekend, each winner got to choose a number from 1-6 if they wanted a TexP card--Bill also had Harvest Times and a Book of the Covenant if someone wanted one of those. Prior to the tournament, Bill assigned each of the 6 TexP cards a number and then gave the corresponding card to each person at the end of the tournament.
