Evening Exhibition Thursday night at Nats 14

I am offering what is being called Epic Booster Draft.  This is a booster draft that includes every booster pack created from Limited through Disciples, so it includes: Limited (we have these), Unlimited, Prophets, Womens (we have these as well), Warriors (we even have these), Apostles, Patriarchs, Kings, Angel Wars, Priests, TexP, and Disciples.

This event will run Thursday night after the Nats tournament events are complete, and is an unofficial separate event.

The event cost will be $50 per person; however, if you act now you can pre-register and pay only $40 per person (a $10 savings). Pre registration starts today, Thursday June 5, and ends in six weeks on Saturday, July 19.  If you haven't registered for the event by July 19th and we still have slots open you can still register, but then at the rate of $50 per person.

We need a minimum of 4-5 people to sign up for this to run smoothly, that being said, the first 32 people to sign up can play due to the number of slots available.  As of this this morning two people have already pre-registered, and there are 30 slots still available on a first come first served basis.

If you have paypal you can send me a payment to Steven Kivelowitz at my e-mail whiteandgold7redemption@yahoo.com to reserve your spot now, and please leave in the notes section your name, your screen name, and write Evening Exhibition Thursday night at Nats 14.  If you don't have paypal send me an e-mail and we can make other arrangements for you to pre-register.  If there are still slots available after July 19, you can still register, but then at $50 per person.

I said I would announce prizes when the event got closer.  I am going to give a King David promo as a tournament winner promo (or if the winner prefers, I can do a Chariot of Fire promo, or a Harvest Time promo (winner's choice).  This prize comes from my collection since this is an unofficial event.

Also, since the event is being offered at Nationals, I am offering the same prizes that you would get if you won booster draft at Nationals such as the following:
First place: $36 in Redemption cash from this tournament season (coming from my collection)
Second place: $24 in Redemption cash from this tournament season (coming from my collection)
Third place: $15 in Redemption cash from this tournament season (coming from my collection)

If enough additional people sign up, I may include additional prizes as well.

Current player count is at 6

Also, depending on availability and distribution method, we may be able to include the new booster to this draft as well, but only if its available on Thursday at Nats, and if we do add it in, everyone will need to chip in then an additional $5 so that we can include those packs as well.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and pre-register today.  Only 26 spots left, and they are filling up fast, and pre-registration for this event ends on July 19.  Thanks

Wow. That sounds epic. Sadly, I can't be there for it. Oh well.

I vote someone comes up with a cheaper alternative for those of us who don't have jobs and what-not. I think it would be fun to try Type MN again which is essentially two-player booster.

You should ask Craig to organize a CHAOS tournament. From experience it is wacky wild fun.

Sounds like a ton of fun, I'll plan to pre-register soon and "draft" a few more players into it (see what I did there?).

Haha, Matt what happens in Craig's basement stays in Craig's basement... especially if blocking with (or banding that ended with) Josh's "Ram with Two Horns" +3 Media constitutes 75% of blocks in a game...

...Chaos is fun... we'll just have to remember all the rules we wanted to add after we started :o

4-5 people have committed to playing thus far.  If you are planning to attend there are still 27 slots open.  I am willing to extend the pre-registration out until July 19, 2014.  Please contact me or send me a pm if you want to pre-register, or if you are unable to pre-register, but are planning to play Thursday night at Nats, please contact me so that I can at least reserve a spot for you.  Thanks

This sounds interesting but all of the time spent drafting will be crazy (this is not meant as a critique as I am known for trying crazy things at Nats like the Fantasy Redemption Draft we tried in Columbus a few years back). How many rounds are you planning on playing after the draft is done?

Travis,

That honestly will depend upon how many people sign up.

OK...good. Sometimes when someone offers Epic or Extreme events, they also amp up the number of rounds to be Extremely Epic too. Go ahead and add me to your list of people who want to play. Sounds fun.

At last MN nats Andrew Wester, Alex Olijar, John Nesfederer, and I drafted a foof tin, roa tin, and one of every pack (including womens/warriors). It didn't actually take that long and was fun, though perhaps not $50 fun.

MKC also got a defective warriors pack without a rare.

We now have 6 people committed to play which means this booster draft currently is scheduled for 2 rounds.

SWISS STYLE MULTI-PLAYER TOURNAMENTS (according to the Redemption tournament guide) (sealed deck MP)
3-5 players 1 round 1 hour 15 minutes
6-16 players 2 rounds = 2 x (1 hour 15 minutes) = 2 hours 30 minutes
17-64 players (we are able to top out at 32) 3 rounds = 3 x (1 hour 15 minutes) = 3 hours 45 minutes

Travis,

I hope this answers your question more completely.

Thanks

Steven Kivelowitz

I'm not sure how this is costing $50.00. Even if we assume retail price for every pack, Limited at $1.00 (since it's not really rare), Women's at $4.00 (the price Rob has been selling them at), and Warriors at $15.00 (which is a high estimate), my math is still only coming up with $48.00. When you count the fact that it's possible to get everything you listed for well under retail, I can't imagine paying more than $40.00 for all this, and $35.00 is probably easily doable. I don't mean to sound harsh, and I'm probably just missing something, but I can't come up with a scenario where $50.00 is close to worth it.

Chris,

The limited cost $1 plus shipping to procure wasn't the easiest to find.  And $48 is the retail on this, and I'm bring the packs all to Nationals myself.  If you are interested in $40 I have given people the option incentive to pay now since I am paying to get the supplies for 32 people up front myself.

All,

I will now not be able to attend, my work dynamic has changed, and I can now no longer afford to attend Nats 14.

No one has sent me money for pre-registration, so I will not need to send any money back to anyone.  I'm sorry that I will no longer be able to do this due to not being there.  Only 5 people had committed to play.  To those, I apologize, and will try to attend a future Nats where I can handle something like this at that time.  Thanks

Steven
