First tournament of the new year and we are off to a good start. A new player joins the ranks (Drake) . We played 3 categories. Type 2-2 Player was won by Marcus Parker as he barely edges out his sister Neeka to capture 1st place. Neeka came in second thanks to her Lost Soul count (and the fact that she was the only other T2 player entered. Type 2 may lose one of its most respected and knowledgible players this tournament year as Ben Shadrick enters his freshman year at Texas A & M. We wish him well and our prayers go with him.
Jon Myers destroyed the Type 1-2 Player field as he swept all 3 of his matches allowing only 1 Lost Soul to be rescued (and held). His Falling Away saw triple duty last night. Terry Markoff grabbed second place by virtue of his 1 Lost Soul.
Closed Deck saw Noel Mendoza hold off 3 other opponents as he eeked out 2 victories. Newcomer Drake place 2nd after managing to win his first match.
A great time was had by all as we look forward to our first District Tournament on Saturday, September 17th.
