Does CGD frown upon cash prizes for tournaments, or is it because no one's willing to front the cash?

I don't think there's anything stopping hosts from doing cash prizes on their own dime, but it certainly is not possible financially for Cactus Games to provide cash prizes. I would also guess that if a host were to do this, the cash prize would have to be of equal value to the retail price of the prizes provided by Cactus.

Have you looked it up in ORCID?

I assume Rob would frown at cash prizes. It is more beneficial for a company to give away product then cash equal to the retail value of that product.

It would be a good idea if sponsors got involved like seminaries, churches, schools, ministries, and so on.

But if someone wins so munch in cash, eventually they'd have to pay taxes on it.

Maybe if, though, you win enough tourneys you will get interest and then end up being a Millionaire off of it. Yeah I have had a couple dreams lately.

You could waste your life following your dreams or you can spend your life following the King, but you can't do both.

Like in Matthew 6:33 to first seek the Kingdom and His righteousness then He'll add things to you. Seek God first, then He'll give you your hearts desires. Remember all the promises in the Bible have a condition. Meet the condition to have the blessing.

Although I really enjoy redemption and would of liked the fact of bring a pro at it or being sponsored or making some sort of income from it, I need to realize that God has a Calling for every Christian. I'm thankful that I'm in His Will, meeting His Call in Ministry and not just pursing a card game with all my heart. Because our heart should be for God and His things.

Matt 6:33 is talking about basics for life and not neccessarily everything your heart desires.

I think you blended that scripture with this one:

Psalm 37:4 (King James Version)

4Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

And if your heart desires a brand new sports car, when you delight thyself in the LORD it will probably change(nothing wrong with sports cars, just an example). So it's not about having a huge list of stuff you want and then delighting in the LORD to get it all.

No, I meant that as Christians we must first seek God... then He'll add things onto us. A supporting scripture is the one you quoted. Yes, God wants to bless us and give us the desires of our heart. But, all the blessings have a condition, meet the condition, get the blessing.

It's not alright to seek money first and make a big deal of it. I'm not saying that anyone on this thread is, just don't make such a big deal about getting cash for playing redemption and so on. The world preaches money is king and they make such a big deal out of it and they make a god (an idol type of god) out of money. That's why I brought up Matt. 6:33.

As far as I know, no one is offering cash for Redemption as of now.  I was just wondering if that was due to a prohibition on Cactus's part.

There are two reasons there are no cash prizes the main problem is Cactus has no way of supporting due to the cost. Imo the other reason while there are no cash prizes is because sometimes large cash prizes can cause over competitiveness in people which ruins some of the fun and fellowship that is base of Redemption.

In general, people that are going to be over-competitive will do so regardless of the prize.

What if players put their Redemption Cash together and had it as a prize pool?
