New Tournament Style

I'll be trying this with my tournament in June:
Noob Tournament
Local (open)
Type 1 2-player
Beginning with any starter deck, an upper limit of 56 cards, and only removing 4 cards from the starter deck (so total, you can only add a total of 10 outside cards)
I think that this would help new players compete with old hats, as well as being an interesting deck building challenge.

Why not just play sealed?

I would put in TGT and AoCP every single time.

We're talking new players here.  Sealed may be a foreign concept to them.  And it's easier with just one category.

Yeah, you could break it.

Sealed is perhaps the easiest game play variation that we have.  No mess, no fuss, just take a starter deck, some packs and simply augment what you have.

Yeah, Sealed is probably the way to go.  Just give each player a starter deck and 3 booster pack that they can use to "sup" it up.  By having it be an official category, they can even get RNRS points and prizes :)
