Booster Draft Rules

Need a quick confirmation... In booster, are there any limits on duplicates?  Lost Souls with SAs?  Sites with SAs?  Multicolor enhancements?

I'm pretty sure all dupes are allowed...maybe not Lost Souls, though.

I have often wondered myself, since the rules do not seem to be written anywhere. All I can remember being told was that you can have multiple copies of the same card, but the duplicate rule for in-play characters still is in effect.

At NE Regionals I was told you can have duplicates of any drafted card, but you cannot have two of the same unique hero in play.

If that was Roy that told you that, then we are basing our conclusions on the same person's input. Not that I don't trust Roy (since he is the man), but can we get confirmation from other parts of the country?

John and Roy concluded that.

I'll only count John as a second source if you can correctly spell (and pronounce) his last name.

In the NW we've played that you can have duplicates of ANY card, including dominants (Glory of the Lord, haha) and multi-color enhancements.

Bryon has said the same, but at Michael Wolfe's tournament, it was questioned if the limit of one multicolor card and the 1 per 50 for sites and lost souls were still in effect.  Luke Wolfe managed to draft 2 shuffler lost souls, and Mr. Wolfe was wondering if the "multiple copies" exception to Type 1 rules carried over to souls and sites as well.  Without a set of official rules anywhere on Cactus' site I could find, we wondered where the multiple copies rule came from, and if it was canon.

This was also the rules at EC Regionals and MW Regionals.

No, it's not.  Rules for sites aren't based on deck size in Sealed Deck, there's just an overall limit of one.

For Booster draft I have always ruled and played where you can have multiples of any card but only 1 of each unique character out at a time.  As for closed deck you can only have 1 site I believe (never had to rule on this anyways so I'm not 100% sure but close).

I found the following in the Tournament Host Guide:

Under Booster Draft:
Players may use all of the cards they choose from packs. Identical cards of any
type may be added into a deck although the rules regarding doubles in play still
applies.

Under Closed (Sealed) Deck:
Players begin constructing their decks according to guidelines given for Type 1
decks with the following exception: only one single-colored site per deck is
allowed.
The two players may trade cards with each other but may NOT trade with any
other player.

SO now we know why everyone thinks those are the rules.........because they are and are written somewhere.

Mike
