A 'Treasured Booster Draft' Plan

I've been thinking of the good old days when you could excite yourself to opening 7 booster packs at a draft.  I'm seriously thinking of a Booster Draft that's designed to revive retro with a touch of TxP.

I present 'Treasured Booster Draft' for your critiques:

Suggested Fee Range (Granting 20% off from retail purchase) = $15.00-$18.00

A.  The Packs (1 each):

TxP
UL
Pr
Ap
Pa
Ki
Aw
Pt

The Draft's special privilege: Initial draft round begins with TxP and will require each player to retain 2 cards of choice (not necessarily both TxP in pack).

The Draft then moves along just like the traditional system does.

:o Imagine getting DoN or GOYs twice in the draft as you initially open your packs.  You get to use one and keep one ready for trade or use in another deck.  You can also pass the extra DoN as a heroic sign of generosity  ::) .  But what about the other cards than you can have more than one of in your deck?  I'll leave you to feel the 'awesomeness!'

Let me know your suggestions.  I wish to implement my plan on my first Tourney this year.

NO trash talk on this thread.  Clean fun only, if any.

Thanks and Godbless!

I am planning to use that format for the Oct 3rd local here in Minnesota, except without Angel Wars (since there's not very much besides Silver for offense). Even without AW tho, that's still 71 drafted cards to build a deck with, which is pretty sweet if you ask me.  :)

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

Roy-
is there any way you could come up with a package deal where you could sell a booster package like this to other tournament host? if so please let me know.

This is the way Lackey gave it to me. All hail the power of Lackey!

Roy, you may want to check with Rob to make sure your plan is acceptable. The tournament host's guide says that drafted packs involve keeping one card and start with the earliest packs. Your plan does not follow either of these rules.

A couple of years back I asked Rob if I could run a booster draft using FoOF where I would mix all of the FoOF cards together and give each player 10 random FoOF cards for regular drafting. (Mostly because the main players preferred classic booster, but also agreed that stand-alone FoOF cards were awesome). Rob told me that I was not allowed to do that in a sanctioned tournament.

I realize my idea was a bigger modification of the rules than yours, but it doesn't hurt to ask ahead of time.

Hey,

What is the benefit of drafting the TeP pack first?

Honestly, I want to draft TxP last.  I based my assumptions on how the tins are drafted.

Hey,

I think the tins are "drafted" first because they aren't actually drafted.  Since the TxP would be drafted I see no reason why you couldn't do it last.  And from my very limited experience with Booster Draft I think you are right that drafting the TxP last would be best.
