A few random thoughts:1 - Playing in 4 events would be hard to do. It is pretty easy to fit in playing in 1 Fri evening, 1 Sat morning, and 1 Sat afternoon. The 4th event would have to either be in the middle of the night on Fri, or else late Sat which makes it harder for people to get home. It might be better to cut it to 3 events (T1-2p, T2-2p, and one multi-player event like Booster). Having an odd number of events also makes it harder to have an overall champion who is tied because they both won 2 events.2 - Speaking of ties, I'd try to rework the scoring so that it is harder for ties to occur. Currently two wins and a 3rd place would tie a win and two 2nd places. Also three 2nd places would tie a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finish. Also a win and two 3rd places would tie two 2nds and a 3rd. If you change the pts for a 1st place finish to 9, then it makes ties a lot harder.3 - I really don't like the idea of buying points. Just charge a $15 admission and score the tournament straight up.4 - I doubt that I would travel more than 1 state for a tournament like this in it's current form. I just don't have the time/budget for long-distance trips to play Redemption other than Nats. At the same time, this sounds really fun, and it would be great to see everyone more than once a year
1 T1-Multi is an option for people to opt out of t2 if they don't want to play it or don't have an available deck. This is also why T1-Multi is worth less in the scoring system.
2. This is a rough format I'm looking for ideas an feed back on the idea. Do you have any suggestion for scoring?
3. There would be an admission fee but that is yet to be determined. I can see not wanting to cause finaces to be the reason someone would or would not win the tournament. I was looking for extra/easy ways to generate money for missions.
4. What kind of things would make it worth traveling to you? Or is it just too much to ask no matter what things would be offered?

I also think it is better to have 3 events that everyone plays in, than it is to have 1 event where the players are divided between 2 events.Quote from: jbeers285 on September 12, 2013, 10:27:47 PM2. I actually did up there, but if you missed it I suggested changing the points for 1st place to nine. That helps eliminate ties, and also gives a bonus for winning the whole thing. Moving from last place to 3rd place increases your points by three, and moving from 3rd place to 2nd place increases your points by two, but moving all the way to the top spot deserves to increase your points by four.Quote from: jbeers285 on September 12, 2013, 10:27:47 PM3. The second is to make money for missions. Doing the first one right will COST a lot of money and get back little. Doing the second one right will cost a little money and get back a LOT. I think you might need to split your goals into separate events.Quote from: jbeers285 on September 12, 2013, 10:27:47 PM4. What kind of things would make it worth traveling to you? Or is it just too much to ask no matter what things would be offered?Realistically traveling more than 3 hours for a tournament probably just wouldn't happen for me unless it was a "big" event (like T2-only, Nats, etc.) and somehow my traveling expenses were paid for (or at least there was a good chance of it, like the tourney paid travel expenses for anyone who finished top 3 in any event).
1. The idea behind making the secondary option worth less is to encourage people to play the intended category. T1-Multi is more people who don't want to play t2-2p which is one of the main events. This way people will play T2 unless they absolutely can't, or won't.
3. Redemption for Micah works, why wouldn't another large fun tournament be able to produce the same kind of result for missions?
4. In other words there isn't a realistic way that you would travel anywhere except nats.
