Fantastic news. If you guys come a day early, you could go to Target Field to watch the Twins beat the Red Sox :O.

But that's what we did in 2005...thanks to a Curt Schilling throwing error.   :D

Red you sound pretty I don't even know how to say it nicely, but dumb right now. Anyway, I knew it was going to be in MN and I gave my input saying I wanted it there, I also knew Chris is in favor of both two players at the same day and time. That is great, but my only not really complaint, but thing I don't completely agree with is Saturdays schedule. But I also see it in the other view as people needing to leave early, but I would think of people coming later the first day, meaning the less popular categories to be then. I'll have a blast every day, but I think Saturday will be the least competitive for me. In advance though, thank you Chris for hosting and taking the time and resources to host nationals. Looking forward to it.

What is wrong with the first weekend of august all of the sudden? Why have two nationals been on the second week...? Not enough educators on the boards?

As the Soundman pointed out, North Heights has a huge conference that goes on every year on the first weekend of August, so that weekend would have been impossible.

However, for those who do make it, I trust you will find that North Heights is an ideal venue for such an event, and we Minnesotans will work incredibly hard to make it one of the best National tournaments ever. Wild Bill knows how to throw quite a party.  ;D

And for those who want a sneak preview at the location of Nats 2011, don't forget to check out the MN T2 only Blowout!

Nope but I did have a gut feeling MN got nats again.(IMO the SE should have got nats but I'm gonna be watching the boards like a hawk though)

Just to clear up anything about Nats this year.  The SE never even placed a bid for Nats this year!  I contacted Rob about having a Nats in TN and said that I was open to whichever year he thought would be best for him and the game, and he had already decided where it was going to be this year.  So there is no reason to start a fuss, because there is nothing to fuss about.

Their is in fact a reason to start a fuss. Time to start fussing about Tennessee 2012!!!

What would be the closest in flight to Mounds View, MN?  Is there a city & airport near that location if someone would fly in from out of state?

I'm guessing Minneapolis is probably the best choice.

Until Rob says that's the location I'd take that with a grain of salt imo.

Correct. The Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport (MSP) is about 20 miles from the tournament site. There will be several volunteers (myself included) willing to pick people up from the airport and drive them to the hotel/tournament site.

Well since this topic has been answered I guess we will all meet on the other thread and discuss these issues.  Congrats to MN and I hope to see you all there!
