Also, the worst thing that could happen in the tournament would be you would hang out at the bottom tables with MJB and Craig (if he can make it). While I've never been there, I can observe from across the room that they always have a good time.

I can attest to this. Going to the Type 2 was one of most amusing tournaments I ever had the pleasure of attending. It saddens me that I have not been able to return...maybe after I finish this silly little doctorate degree :P.

I was always trying to figure out the fourth person for the type 2 multi ultimate paring. MJB, Craig, Rawrlolsauce and ???? I think Your Math Teacher would fit nicely. We would have to charge admission.

Or we could videotape it, edit it, and then add in commentary!! Oooh the possibilites...

"So Justin, Matt is rescuing with a Green Hero...what do you think he's planning to do here?"

"Well Bill, he's either trying to bluff Craig into handing over a free Lost Soul or wanting to drop A New Beginning. I think the odds are pretty even at this point..."

"Do you see Alan intervening if Craig shows some indecision?"

"Oh there's no question Alan will intervene...it's just a matter of whether or not he actually has a card to play..."

"And we're back to the action. Before we went to break, we saw Matt going for a rescue with a Green Hero against Craig. Bill, let's take a look at the Cactus Game Design Hand Cam and see what Matt actually is planning."

"Oh my Justin! It looks like Matt only has Angel of the Lord! Will Craig make the right play and band two of his Evil Characters?"

"Uh oh Bill, it looks like Craig is starting to buckle...he's reaching for a Soul!"

YMT, although it is sometimes hard to tell with me, I was serious in suggesting you attend the T2-Only. Although I sometime find it hard to tell with you, I hope you are actually considering it.

2.) My presence would be a blast because I have never played Type 2, and have only judged a couple games (of course I referred all questions to Josh Kopp). Therefore I would be fodder for the pros.  ;)
There is another long-standing T2-Only tradition. Every year Craig (Count Fount) Fountain lends one of his decks to another player who doesn't have one. Every year the good Count ends up playing against and losing to his deck. As far as I can tell, no amount of inexperience can overcome the Count's inability to win.

One thing, though, prepare some snappy table talk for the T2-multi games. We need to keep up the chatter to prevent Craig from dozing off.

I have indeed considered it, but I'm afraid I will not be able to attend. The entire trip would still cost me close to $200 (even with help from Wild Bill). I could buy a couple weeks worth of groceries with that money, so I need to be aware of my priorities during these tough economic times. If I were single without kids, things would be different.  :-\

Perhaps there will come a time that I can visit MN with my whole family during a vacation. I have relatives in Albert Lea that I have not seen in over 20 years!  :o

Are there at least any shrubberies in your basement?

I can make arrangements.

Nats confirmed: MKC's basement. Bring your own toilet paper.

Actually, I had our barn in mind. We could clean it some, and then you don't even need to worry about restrooms, and you don't need woods.
