I certainly will help you "Count" them all especially if it gets over the number "orange".

Weather Report (for you out-of-towners): It appears we will be having a slight warm up (compared to today) for the Type-2 Only.

Tomorrow (Friday) we should see a high of 17 degrees with a 50% chance of snow.
Saturday we will have a high of 3* degrees.

*I did not forget a digit here.  I mean three (tres, trois, drei, etc.) degrees.

Looking forward to seeing all y'all, and in the classic words of the radio guys from Groundhog Day, "Don't forget your booties because it's COOOLD out there."

Its time Ladies(Britta) and Gentlemen. Things will start to heat up about 4:00pm in the Great Hall as I start to set up. Doors officially open at 6:00 for Registration, Deck Check In, Trading etc... Hope to start Multi Player at about 7:00.

Well, I think I actually am going to try to build my own type 2 deck despite what I said earlier. That being said there, I might not be able to make it there until 9:30/10:00 on Saturday, so if things start on time could I just jump in at round 2 assuming my deck is ready to go by then? Will there be cards to buy and trade for like a normal tournament? I'm going to need a good handful of cards. Could I come Friday night just to work on it?

Wow, I feel like a needy Redemption player. . . ha ha. But really if that is too much for me to cram in, just say something and I'll stick to Ironman. Thanks for answering all my questions!

I would definitely try for that as opposed to rushing in last minute with your deck not quite ready on Saturday morning.

We started this tournament 9 years ago for two reasons.
1. To give the good type 2 players some good competition besides the local players they normally play against.
2. To generate interest in new players trying Type 2.

So come on Friday night and we can help build your deck, there will be cards to trade and buy. And come when you can on Saturday to play. We will be playing 6 rounds, so you can get a good taste off what type 2 is all about. I know of at least 4 players who will be playing type 2 for the first time.

I'm not gonna make it today. I'm not feeling so hot. Wish I could be there!

Thanks everyone for the fun day. Nathan Voigt, it looks like I grabbed your CBP lost soul after our last game and brought it home. My bad. I most likely will be at the tournament next month so I can bring it then. If you want it sooner, I can mail it or bring it somewhere.

To go along with what is being said, Craig I stole one of your Persian Presidents, and have no plans to give it back.  But you should hope that Bill will, since I gave it to him.

Great tournament everyone! I'm planning to write a tourney report at some point but definitely one of the best tournaments I've ever been to! Lots of great players, pretty wide variety in the deck strategies used and of course great hospitality by Wild Bill.  :D I'd say the only disappointing things were Bill not getting a chance to make another run in 2P, (but I'm glad he was able to participate in MP--kudos to MJB for being willing to judge MP!) and me still not getting a chance to play against Count Fount (either in MP or 2P).  8)

Multi
1. Josiah Beers - judges/Pharisees
2. Jonathan Alstad - Angles/Philistines
3. Justin Alstad - NT Women/Magicians

2 player
Justin had a great tournament run:18 points with a 20 LS differential. And he did not have an easy go: 5 out of his 6 matches were against former national champs.
Martin put his deck together that morning and had 26 hero's in his deck. I guess Warrior class banding still is viable.
Doug played his first type 2 game at the tournament and had a great run to take 3rd. He worked hard the last month at game night getting the cards he needed and putting a deck together. We might have another convert.

Multi
I played on the first table with Josiah and Craig had a quick 6 with Josiah still at 2. Craig kicked me under the table, the signal to let someone else win. And Josiah did end up winning that game and the next 2 also. I found out later that Craig didn't like the target on his back all year because of winning Multi last year, and on Saturday Josiah did have a target on his back (literally).
Its always good to have Johnathan come out of retirement and play, he still has it.
And Justin just got lucky.

Ironman
Peter Helgerson won with an 8-1 record. We are grooming him to be the next RLK to knock Tim out of a regional title.

Favorite Game
Craig and Pat. Last your they tied 1-1, this year they tied 4-4. One of them might get to 7 next year. Last year they lasted 15 minutes before they went to sleep, this year they made it almost an hour.

Thanks to Matt for the great play Mats for 1st place, Tim for being my go-for when I needed something and the great crew that helped stay for cleanup.

Pretty sure I only had 1 when Craig got to 6 and as for him kicking you under the table, that was obvious to all of us because count slid so low in his seat trying to stretch all the the way over to your short little legs.  ;D

We now need a single colored Scattered.

No we don't.  I think one scattered per deck is just fine.  ::)
