Here's my proposal for the 2P Booster event:--Cost: $12--Traditional Booster using the following packs: Unlimited, Prophets, Apostles, Patriarchs, Kings, Priests, TexP, Disciples.--Tables of 4 or 5 for drafting (would like to avoid tables of 3).--Order of opening packs is chosen at random.--Players are then paired up randomly and may being building their decks. --Players may trade with their first round opponent.--Each player may choose up to 3 of the following dominants to add to their deck: Son of God, Angel of the Lord, Harvest Time, Christian Martyr, Burial, Vain Philosophy, Strife (players will need to provide their own dominants and dominants cannot be traded). (If your name is Craig, you don't get any dominants)--One single-color Site of any brigade per deck.--All decks must be sleeved--Number of rounds to be determined by number of playersAny thoughts, questions or suggestions?
CHAOS sounds like fun. If we do booster it would only cost 10 dollars. All the packs plus disciples and treasures. Draft with 4 play 2 player. We can call it Type 2 Booster Draft with the 2 standing for 2 player.Don't forget we have to leave some time for the battle of the bands. So far we have:Billy Bang and the ExplosivesCindy and the AlstadsThe Hot Timaly BandKoala QueenCHAOS (Craig-Lead Singer, Matt on the drums, Josh-Lead Guitar. Its a Grunge Band)
haha no way the only queen song your gonna be playing is im going slightly mad
I put $12 so Bill can at least cover costs on the packs since it's a fun event. I would even be willing to donate the Unlimited packs.Yeah the doms are for a couple reasons; to speed up the game like you mentioned and also to give players a chance in case someone drafts a ridiculous combo (Nero/HHI). That way they have a way around it (would guess that most people will use AotL) and don't just get "stuck" for the entire game.
It has been suggested that perhaps since it is a "T2" event, that everyone would draft two cards at a time, I think this would be a fun variant to try. What are people's thoughts on trading with the first round opponent? I think it will make decks stronger overall to make for more competitive games, but could it potentially give too much of an advantage to some players?
--One single-color Site of any brigade per deck.
Any thoughts, questions or suggestions?
I'd say no addition of doms, just to keep it close to true Booster draft as possible. Offenses in Booster are almost always better than defense (just the way the cards fall) so I don't think there will be too much trouble with keeping games going.I'm fine with trading, though it might be kind of tricky, since people don't always know right away which cards they will add to their deck, unlike sealed deck. It would also make the deck-building phase take awhile. But if we can figure out a good way to do it, I'm alright with it.I very much agree with the site limit. All it would take is for a player to get three sites of colors that their opponent doesn't have (or doesn't have strong Heroes in) for there to be lockout. I also agree with the experience credit and rescuer's choice ideas. Not that Rescuer's choice will likely matter a whole lot, but it will in some cases. Experience credit will be great in BD though. Everything else looks good. How did you envision the "trading" period working Justin?
I 2 like:Optional rules2 less than 2 domsDraft 2 at a timeLimit 2 sitesTrade up to 2 cards$12 would cover
We could just "ignore" immunity texts for the entire event. That way Angel and CM isn't all that necessary and Nero and POTW are still good because of there numbers but are not broken in this format.I like the idea of a higher deck size and maybe requiring good and evil to be balanced would make for better games. After all this is the type 2 only.
I love the ideas of doing Rescuer's Choice and Experience Credit.
As much as I like the "2" theme, I think it will be really fun to allow people to choose that one extra dominant. I feel like Harvest Time, Doubt, Strife and Vain Philosophy are all legitimate choices and if played at the right time will lead to a successful rescue or block.
