Calling all Type 2 players within 15 hours driving distance of MN or willing to fly in. Best tune up for National. Type 2 is a lot of fun right now. No dominant deck type, lots of options for good decks. It’s cold now on Minnesota but by March 1, it will be plenty warm. In fact the elders at North Heights will be out sun bathing by then so bring your speedo.

Redemption Tournament February 28- March 1, 2014
Location:  North Heights Lutheran Church
 Arden Hills- Great Hall
 1700 W. Highway 96
 Arden Hills, MN   55112

Lodging:  Stay overnight in the church on Friday night, doors open at 6:00pm.
Money is available to help with traveling expenses for anyone traveling from outside the great state of Minnesota.  The last couple years we have had a number of people fly in.
Cost:  Free
Pizza, pop, etc… will be available for purchase.

Tentative schedule:
Friday:  7:00    Type 2-Multiplayer (2-3 rounds depends on numbers and how late everybody wants to play)
Other games will be available to play (bring your favorite).
After Multi is over we will play some specialty category to be determined. Of course there is always a Perkins Run.
 

Specialty Category: Type Minnesota

--Cost: $12 (we could also go $15 and include Womens packs if everyone was interested)
--Traditional Booster using the following packs: Unlimited, Prophets, Apostles, Patriarchs, Kings, Priests, TexP, Disciples, (Women TBD)
--Tables of 4 or 5 for drafting (want to avoid tables of 3).
--Order of opening packs will be chosen at random prior to the draft.
--Two cards will be drafted at a time.
--Upon completion of draft, players are then paired up randomly and may begin building their decks.
--Players may trade with their first round opponent.
--Each player may choose up to 3 of the following dominants to add to their deck: Angel of the Lord, Harvest Time, Christian Martyr, Vain Philosophy, Strife, Doubt (players will need to provide their own dominants and dominants cannot be traded). If a dominant is drafted, it CAN be used but there is still a 3 dominant limit. (If your name is Craig, you don't get any dominants)
--One single-color Site of any brigade per deck.
--Although this is not an official category we recommend that all decks be sleeved.
--Number of rounds to be determined by number of players.
--Experience credit rule will be used.
--Rescuer's choice rule will be used.
--Name on name bonus will be used.
--Duplicate rules for regular Booster Draft apply

 8:00-8:30   Breakfast for those staying overnight
 8:30-9:00    Registration and deck check in
 9:00-6:00   Type 2-2 player  6 rounds (5 was too few, 7 was too many so 6 it will be)

We will be having an Ironman Tournament on Saturday for those in attendance not playing Type 2. Winner will receive prizes.

Besides normal prizes for a local tournament; 1, 2 & 3rd place winners of Type 2-2 player and Type-2 Multiplayer will get a chance to a special prize. 1st place in each category will get three chances, 2nd place two chances and 3rd place one chance. So if you won Type 2-2 player and placed 3rd in Type- Multiplayer, you would have a 4 in 12 chance to win the new cards.

EXACTLY!!! I'm stillllllllll the reigning champ..

I am planning to attend this illustrious event, and I'll be dragging cg25 along with me (prolly strapped to the roof rack ).

Any suggestions for a first-timer to this event?

Suck up to Wild Bill, otherwise he pairs you with a past Nat Champ in the first round...

I'm pretty much a first timer to t2, so if I come to this tourny will I be destroyed by more experienced players?

In other words what Everytribe, is trying to say is...and I speak from experience...this will be the most fun you will have getting slaughtered that you have ever had.

Looks like I have to try and build a T2 deck.

I actually have no idea. I think it may be a repressed memory. I know I took second, but to whom? Not a clue.

I can't recall who was second....EVERYONE WAS SO FAR IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR I COULD NOT DISTINGUISH ONE LOSER FROM ANOTHER. Geritol Rules!

In anticipation of that move I also reserved the Gym so CountFount and his opponents could play in the Gym and the rest of us could play in the Great Hall.

Man, where ARE your priorities? Babies rarely if ever come earlier than the due date, and besides, I'm sure your wife would be just fine if you missed out on the birth of your first child because of a Redemption tournament. It is, after all, the T2 only...

Bring your box of tissues boys! Eyes will be bleeding.

I thought you said you were just not going to bathe...does this mean you will also be showing up in a speedo?
