Hey guys,

I know not everyone came to Nationals in 2012, but we are basically going to have everything mostly the same.

We are going to have lunches offered everyday at $5.

I'm going to have cokes, candy, snacks for sale.

One nice change is that I have permission to put showers INSIDE the church, so there will be no portable showers with no hot water!

You are welcome to stay at the church on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night, but you will need to make plans for Saturday night.

I will be reserving a hotel, but the one I just in 2012 has changed ownership and companies, so I've got to get over there and check it out make sure it looks OK.  I know there are some other hotels in the same area, but they are either not a place I would stay at or a little more expensive than I would like.

The hotel at Strawberry Plains Pike is honestly the highest quality, cheapest hotel that is available.  It is over 10 miles away from the church, but all of the places between downtown and the church are places that I would not have anybody stay at (mostly for fear that they would catch a disease).  And the hotels downtown are WAY overpriced because they are downtown (which is not that fancy!  ).

If you plan on flying in and want a ride, you need to let me know weeks in advance.  The airport is over 20 miles away.  It is a very easy drive, but I can't just leave and pick someone up without knowing they are coming.

I will get in touch with Rob about the schedule for the tournament.

I can go ahead and tell you that the pricing will be the same.  $10 for open categories and $15 for the two sealed categories.  And they will be full price for the 1st category and then half price for the 2nd & 3rd category.

I know Rob will bring products, Chris Bany will be bringing some sleeves and card boxes.  I know Travis will be bringing some products/cards to sell.  I will also have cards to trade, and I'll be modifying the offer for the Storehouse and you can always buy cards from there and pick it up at the tournament for no shipping!

You are welcome to stay at the church for free on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday nights.  You will have to make alternate arrangements for Saturday night due to having to clean the church for Sunday morning.

If you think of anything else that you would like to know about please just ask and I'll address it.

I will likely be able to come this year, but I'll need some help if I'm to play any open categories.

Just wanted to throw it out there that TLG will be offering Redemption Cube Draft as an after hours option at least one night and possibly more if there is interest.

Great Idea!!! That will be fun and a great addition if we also do Ironman.

We just updated the cube with TEC cards and made it slightly larger to accommodate 12 players per draft. So I was thinking about making a second cube, either a duplicate of the one I linked to or a Pauper Cube where all the cards had to be below a dollar in value. What are your thoughts if you are coming to Nats?

I'm not sure if you saw my "pauper" cube or not, but I know that would be a good starting point.  Of course, there are a lot more and better cards that are now listed under $1

I just now saw you cube...nice work. I may do something like that but I may shift the price cut off to $.50 since the prices have lowered since you constructed your cube.

I'm glad to see there is no top cut this year. Excellent choice.

Having played in both Nationals that had Top Cut, I've glad to see it is returning this year. It was pretty successful both years we've had it, and a few people who originally weren't fans (including Chris Bany) have been won over. You can't please everybody, but I'm glad most of the leadership is on board.

So is it 10 rounds then top cut or 7 rounds then top 8 or 6 rounds top 16 or 6 rounds double elim top cut or....

Based on the allotted time, I'm guessing it's 7 rounds and a top 8 cut.

If you plan to attend Nationals you won't want to miss this announcement! If you weren't planning to attend you might want to reconsider!

Wow. When did this Message Board become a dictatorship? All other passionate discussions in the past month have just been split off into new threads. This one gets deleted. Sorry, but you cannot thank me for an understanding that I do not have.

A new fun prize was announced to be tested at nats with the article even saying the might expand it in the future depending on how it goes, and literally the first thing people did was derail it into complaints about how they wanted more categories to have the prize.  I think the removing was warranted.
