I look forward to seeing old friends and making some new ones this weekend. For thsoe coming from out of town, I will pray that God bless your travels.

If anyone wants/needs my cell number for the tournament please feel free to send me a PM and ask. I am planning on leaving my house tomorrow around 11:00 am, so sending the PM before then would be good. ;) I will also have internet access at the church and will check PMs/e-mail periodically once I get things organized.

Here are the tournament details as they currently stand...

Dates: Friday July 23 and Saturday July 24.

Times: Friday July 23 5:00 pm
           Saturday July 24 Session I   8:30 am
Saturday July 24 Session II   5:00 pm  (estimate)

Events: All seven sanctioned events.

Cost:  $10 Entrance Fee/Maximum $15 per family*/Spouses play free!**
          $10 Sealed Deck
          $15 Booster Draft

Payment: I will accept Redemption cash for the entry fees (but not Sealed/Booster, sorry).
The only drawback is that I just don't want to mess around making change for
Redemption cash, so I won't. If you want to give me a $12 Redemption cash
voucher for the $10 entry fee I won't turn you down, however.

Location: North Heights Lutheran Church   Arden Hills Campus

Directions: Google Maps.

Miscellaneous:  There will be lodging available at the church on Friday night so bring a sleeping bag.
The church has shower facilities available so bring a towel.

Food: There will be food/beverages available for purchase throughout the tournament.
There will be chips/sodas available throughout the tournament for $0.50 a piece.
Friday evening (and Saturday evening if desired) there will be hot dogs for $1.00 each.
2 hot dogs, chips and soda for $2.50.
Saturday there will be a light breakfast available for people staying at the church for free.
Saturday lunch will be pizza for $5 for three slices of pizza, chips and soda.

Schedule***:  Friday:  Sealed, T2-MP, TEAMS
                    Saturday (Session I)  T1-2P, T2-2P
                    Saturday (during lunch) Type S
                    Saturday (Session II)  Booster, T1-MP

UPDATE!The voters have spoken: Booster draft will be Classic Booster. We will be offering the following packs:
  • Unlimited
  • Prophets
  • Women
  • Apostles
  • Kings
  • Angel Wars
  • Priests
  • Thesaurus

*Includes all blood relations living under one roof.
**Especially newly minted Alstad spouses and any spouse named Missy. ;)
***When making the original schedule I forgot about Type S. The local Fire Marshall will not allow us to play both T2 events and Type S in the same day.

Since RDT deleted the post I was responding to, I will use this as a follow-up post...

UPDATE #1I have flipped TEAMS and T1-MP for scheduling purposes. I really want to end Saturday evening sometime and not extend into the wee hours of Sunday.  This necessitates ending with two MP events. Since at least one of the events had to be available for young-uns to play in, that means T1-MP.

UPDATE #2Also, voting on what to us in Booster continues. If you are planning on playing Booster at the NC Regional please vote if you care.

So far we have Packs crushing Tins by a 2:1 margin.  ;)

Packs Only:  Prof Alstad
                    Rawrlolsauce
                    JSB23
                    Soundman

Tins:             Master K Chief
                    Bubbleboy

UPDATE #4If anyone is interested in buying a complete set of FoOF/RoA for $30/$27 + shipping let me know. If we go the packs route, I could use the money from selling the set(s) to pay for Women.

Do you have the new expansion? The Brinkmans got it in the mail while I was at their house for a game day a few weeks ago. (We didn't actually play it, though, because they didn't have enough of the right sleeves.)

MJB told me he was planning to use disciples in addition to Original, Prophets, Patriarchs, Apostles, Kings, Priests, Warriors, and TXP.

No. He just used teh old schoolz pax last year, so I could see him doing that + TXP this year. You probably should just shoot him a message or wait for him to drop by, though.

That is correct. I believe he opened a bunch of ROA tins in front of us and sold the ROA set for like $30 and gave us the packs for booster ;).

If anyone has any suggestions as to what they would like to see used for booster at the NC Regionals, feel free to post here or PM me.

he didnt use tins last year?
No. Last year at the MN State tournament I went with an old school theme. I used E & F starters for Sealed. I aligned Booster with the theme by skipping the tin and giving eight packs to each player--Unlimited/Prophets/Women/Apostles/Patriarchs/Kings/Angel Wars/Priests.  (Oh and Wild BIll opened a case of Warriors for Type-S.  ;) )

The main reason for this choice was that the most vocal group of MN players prefer Booster over both Foofter and Roaster, especially at the end of the season when cheap tin cards are not a huge selling point. A side benefit was that Prof Alstad was able to purchase a complete set of RoA for cheap, and his money went directly to purchasing the packs of Women.

If anyone is interested in buying a complete set or two of FoOF/RoA for $30/$27 you could  let me know that also.

i personally would prefer roa/foof tins. perhaps we can do old skool + tin cards for a super draft? :)

I could be interested in the FOOF. Depends how poor I am when it comes around :p.

I prefer traditional over the tins tbh. Beings I usually get paired with someone who has the same color.
