Minnesota and California are the same state.  Unfortunately, BubbleBoy is one of those that think MN owns CA (and call CA "West Minnesota"), when, in reality, CA owns East California.

Surprising fact:

Columbus, OH is closer to New York City than it is to Minneapolis, MN. Boston Columbus is, in fact, dead smack in the middle between Boston. MA and Minneapolis, MN.

Boston is, in fact, dead smack in the middle between Boston. MA and Minneapolis, MN.

That would indeed be surprising, and would violate most principles of Geometry. In fact, I think I'll add it to one of my tests:

1. Two points are in the coordinate plane. When you draw the segment that connects these endpoints, one of them is also the midpoint. How is this possible?

I'm glad I'm not in your math class, no matter how much I actually enjoyed geometry (at least for the first semester last year...for those of you who weren't there yesterday to hear my messed up story about math class, feel free to ask).  :P

Bill wore his nationals name tag yesterday in hopes that nationals will come to MN.  ;D

Another slightly surprising fact:  Atlanta, GA and New York, NY are both about the same distance from Columbus, OH.

Boston is, in fact, dead smack in the middle between Boston. MA and Minneapolis, MN.

Fixed above.  Thanks for the correction.

I'm glad you are a geometry teacher and not a geography teacher.  The idea that the Earth's surface is a plane went out with Columbus--the explorer not the city.  ;)

Don't think I am not aware of your underlying intent, however subtle. Geometrically speaking (Euclidian, of course), the only way an endpoint of a segment can also be the midpoint is if both endpoints were the same point to begin with.

Clearly this is a Jedi mind trick trying to get us to believe that Minneapolis and Boston are actually the same city, and that having Nats in MN would effectively allow Nats to be in the Midwest and East Coast at the same time.

Nice try....  ;)
