I got it! I know what a counter sniper is... its someone who lays in the bushes and waits patiently while their spotter plays the roll of a starving homeless person begging for money when the next good Samaritan who walks up and starts "counting" their loose pocket change, they get nailed with a spitball!!

Speaking of snipers and sauce, the other definition of Counter Sniper that came to mind is relevant to the layout of my house. My kitchen is separated from my living room by a counter that serves as a "bar" (minus the alcohol). My son likes to sneak up on my wife while she is cooking. With his Nerf N' Strike dart gun, he shoots her in the back and scares her to death.

While I was still teaching him to SIT (Sniper in Training), he missed my wife, and we had to fish the dart out of the spaghetti sauce. It looked like blood, so it was pretty cool.

Snipers could be used as a weapon. Launch a fairly sizable one out of a cannon at opponent's land of bondage, and see what happens.

I believe the mass driver is similar to the rail gun concept that the navy had, if it isn't the same thing. It's a type of weapon where the sheer energy + mass of the projectile causes so much damage that you don't even need an explosive inside it. It works on the same property(ies) that meteorites do when they strike the earth's surface. It's basically a brick that goes so fast, that when it hits, it's like a meteorite just wiped out your ship/house/car/etc...

As for sniping ship captains, I wouldn't put it past the Navy Seals NOT to have done it. Although, on large military ships, the Captain doesn't actually drive the ship that much. He/she really just makes all of the decisions on where the ship is going and how it's going to get there. But I wouldn't say that it doesn't happen, it just seems a little unlikely.
