If it uses the words "God", "Jesus", or "Him" is capitalized on the lyric book, it is Christian. If it doesn't, it is neutral. They are in your face christian which is more than anyone can say for any of the so called "Christian" rockbands

just because a band claims to be christian or is on a christian label does not make it christian. Chevelle first signed with a christian label and they are def not christian.

The wiki disagrees. They may not be "in your face" but there's nothing to say that they are not Christian. They aren't my favorite band around, but I can't ever recall anything about Chevelle that says "They are clearly not Christians."

I would defend Switchfoot, but they are terrible anyway, so who cares.

Actually, under most circumstances imho, it just becomes noise. There is so much 'garbage' (imho) music out there because the singer... I'm sorry, screamer, screams the whole time. I can't understand it, and it's boring and not original to me. I just don't enjoy music like that, and I don't see how others do either.
I also can't stand rap, mostly. I'll listen to some 90's stuff every once in awhile, but tobyMAC is not my favorite... Neither is Corpus Christi, haha.

I feel offended.  You listen to the exact opposite type of music I listen to I like screamer, hiphop, and rap. I could never stand a minute with 90's music (exept for maybe The Beatles but that would be it).

I don't see anything wrong with those lyrics. sure it says "Raped," but that doesn't make them unchristian. look at Blessthefall, they're "Christian" and they swear in one of their songs.

when I say "Rap," I'm being racist and meaning black rap. all the Christian white "rappers" couldn't wrap Christmas presents.

speaking of Christian rap, D.A. Horton raps systematic theology. it's pretty legit.

ever heard of a song called tug of war? yeah def not christian, also if your a christian band shouldnt you use that publicity to witness? that being said i dont believe that there can be a christian band that is not in your face. if they are not then they are not doing what god called us to do.

God called us to glorify him. Not to be necessary be in your face. I actually hate Christian bands who are "in your face". I don't want to hear about how you are a Christian every five seconds. I want to hear you actually produce good music that is God-glorifying, not average to subpar pop music copies with Jesus slapped on it.

J.S. Bach (you probably haven't heard of him) didn't write much "christian" music in his era yet every piece of music he wrote glorifies God. Was he a failure because he did not write his music to be "in your face Christian"?

And you'll have to explain what is so bad about that song. Is it because they say raped? If so, you don't know what you are talking about.

And while christian rap is new if you throw out tobymac, john reuben, and kj-52 then most christian rap artist are very good, as well as theologically sound, surprisingly.

Hey, we actually agree on something.  I introduce Redemption as "The one time we Christians didn't 'slap Jesus' on something and call it a day".  As to in your face bands, I'm going to agree with DC Talk: I'm a Jesus Freak.
And yes, I've heard of Bach, good stuff.  Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted to play him.

yes i have heard of bach i listen to all kinds of music, that being said im not knocking bands for not being christian. i love alot of bands that are in no way christian. i just got tired of listening to bands and not knowing if they are talking about god or their gf i am not saying that makes the band evil it is just my preferance to pick a side of the fence and stay on it. it just kind of peevs me when bands like red, skillet etc claim to be christian on the christian station and then on the secular station make no mention of god or being christian at all. ....but that doesnt make them bad bands, its just my opinion haha
